Bellomy is rancid
FWIW. Michigan doesn't seem inclined to get re-involved.
Bellomy is rancid
Wow and I questioned Denard's throwing...geeze
Shit. Blown opportunity.
Well at least he didn't do something stupid and turn it over but I would say put Gardner in for the 2nd half.
Russell has been horrible all year!
Now we don't run? WTF Al?
Exactly! We have two timeouts at :00! Pathetic!
This is pathetic
He is sh*&$% his pants.
Bellomy not bellamy
I mean, maybe it's time to throw Gardner in there. Bellamy could not look more terrified.
Worst half ever.
Hoke will calm him down. I bet he's back in after the half and playing better. I doubt we see Denard again tonight.
7-6 Nebraska at the half.
So I realize he's one of our top receivers but at what point do you put Gardner on at QB?
Doesn't matter if he's a top receiver if the other QB can't hit him. I feel for Devin...he wants to be a QB more than anything, he's more experienced, and for months the coaching staff said unequivocally that he was still the #2 guy. Time to give him his shot.
Where's the timeout, either team?
He wasn't any better than Bellomy.
Not to mention more experience with this offense as both a QB an receiver.
Maybe not passing but at least he can run. Yeesh Bellomy can't do either right now.
Gardner played very well last year in the second half against Illinois.
Six straight quarters and we haven't scored a TD.
If I were bellomy i would be nervous too... he has to get his head on soon though if denard can't get back in.
You can't blame Bellomy. He has no game experience outside of cleanup duty, and most of the time he was handing off to Rawls anyway. He has one in-game completion prior to today.
This is an incredibly intimidating environment for a guy with minimal experience, and knowing full well how much is at stake.
In starting to think you haven't either.
No but we've watched a couple of serious football games...what does that matter?
So... that 2nd down pass where had Funchess and no one within 5 yards of him with no pressure and wasn't even close looked okay
Perfect for blitzes and young QB.
So missing a wide open TE in the flat by 5 yards isn't an easy confidence building throw?
Jesus, guys. Give the kid a break. That goes for everyone; Borges included.
Our putrid offense gives Sparty's a run for its money. Sigh.
Our O could be in real trouble next year. Lose Lewan, no quality QB with experience oming back, no haus in the backfield. Hopefully, Hoke can work his magic.
There is a very real chance that Shane will be starting next year. If Gardner was a viable option they would have put him in over Bellomy
Shane certainly is going to have a shot but my guess is it is going to be an open competition going in. He'll have to earn it against guys who will have much more time in the system.
We won't allow Nebraska to get in FG range. Like others have said, outside of the "pick play" the D has been swarming and looked pretty good.
I'll take a 12-10 win in a heartbeat. I'd prefer a more comfortable margin of victory but just get to the BT Championship game.
I just really don't get the playcalling sometimes. Bellomy comes in, high pressure situation, and you call four straight passes. Fuck, Al. Why don't you just come take my sandwich too?
You do realize that there were only 51 seconds left on that possession, right?
You come out on there 45....probably need to get 10-15 yards. Not sure you can run the ball in that situation. Bellomy needed to hit Funchess wide open on the flat route.
Here's hoping that Denard comes out in the 2nd half....Nebraska gets 2nd half kick-off. Defense needs to play a really good half of football!
We needed ten yards.
Hoke did say Denard "will be alright" when asked about the second half. Hopefully that means he'll be back in.
Would you really expect Hoke to say, "Denard is done for the night."
I hope you are right, but i wouldn't count anything Hoke is saying right now.
Borges has 15 minutes to either get Denard healthy, calm down Bellomy, or get Gardner ready. One bad drive (give credit to their "pick-play" execution). Other than that drive Michigan's Def is playing well......GO BLUE!
I'm not surprised he's looked awful considering it's his first time in the spotlight on the road with 86000 screaming Husker fans.
ESPN app said he has a cut elbow on the push notification
