Ehhh I deal. They still have needle dicks
Michigan vs. MSU bball open thread
MSU 18 (7 offensive)
Michigan 12 (3 offensive)
There's your game right there.
There's not one player on this team that needs to be thinking about the NBA. Weak is about all I can say.
is hard to watch. Just awful.
This team needs one of the coaches lay into them at half. 25 games into the season, no excuses for the freshman anymore.
I don't know how anyone can deny that. How in the world can you get into this arena tonight and not be up to the task. Most of our players are not. Soft is the key word for this team.
Soft physically (see: the last minute of that half), soft mentally (see: all of our road losses). They just get outworked and outhustled.
You have no post threat and you rely solely on jump shooting, you'll never have consistency because its easier to defend and shooters are streaky. Defensively we haven't been good in a few weeks.
Nix can only go to his right, but Michigan can't rebound anything.
his guy probably has 3 or 4 offensive rebounds too.
Fuck it. Belien needs to do the war rebounding drill that Izzo does. Our defense and rebounding is beyond atrocious and if we don't watch it this game could get pretty ugly.
Hardaway is non existent.
Sad news about Nerlens Noel...there goes the draft in June.
These guys need someone to yell in their damn ears at halftime. Seems to me that no one on the coaching staff can do that. Pathetic first half and I hope to God they come out a totally different team in the second half.
Helps turn bad defense into good defense, great. But yelling is highly overrated and most good coaches don't have to do much of it.
Um tell that to the football coaches.
Freshmens are really showing their inexperince here they are tired and playing all these road games is making them exhausted...if they continue like this we are doomed say goodbye to the tournament
SICK of hearing that. I wasnt super talented at my sport but ALWAYS played my behind off and always brought defense to my game. Even when offense lacked. It doesnt matter what age you are - people either have that drive to play defense or not. I coached many teams since and some kids do it and have that internal drive and some dont. Whether 6 years old, 11 or 18 yrs old.
Well, State is shooting out of their mind also. They haven't made a ton of open shots, most of them are contested, they're just going in. If we get any closer to them, the refs blow the whistle.
Saying most shots were contested is being pretty generous.
It's ok guys. After the loss to Wisconsin they all sat around and mentioned one thing they could do better. So, they're all set now. You can tell that lit a fire under them.
First 4 minutes are crucial. If we aren't within single-digits at that point we might lose by 20.
Can we just have him go to the locker room and unleash a 12 minute tirade that only Novak can deliver?
Lets hope he did.
UM-24 MSU Points in Paint-24
If I have learned one thing about this team, they are resilient. Just chill and it will all get better, yo
Right, they'll make it a little closer and still lose. Being resilient hasn't actually lead to a win yet. Just false hope.
At least we are a team that can come back. Would you rather we lose by 20 to OSU and Indiana?
Exactly. That just makes it even fucking worse that they allow this bullshit to happen in the first half.
We let a guy like Matt Costello get 4 points.
Remember when we were #1 and Beilein asked are we satisfied or will we keep working hard and doing the things that got us here? I think we have our answer. Guys must've read their press clippings.
Then this game is the scene where Rocky gets his ass kicked in the first fight by Clubber Lang. What I want to know is when they'll find the eye of the tiger and get a good training montage going, complete with sprints on the beach and awkward man-hugs.
We gotta get yelled at by Adrian first
YOU CAN'T WIN!!!!
Either that or GR3 - he doesn't seem to be doing anything productive on the court anyway, so why not start nagging Rocky with a whiny pep talk?
If this game doesn't get any better, I'm going to watch Rocky III. That's a great movie.
State's locker room looks like crap
and his two-hand-jump-shot-layup one more time, my remote is going to meet the back of my television.
Again pretty simple - average MSU play is a drive to the basket, and an offensive rebound put back. Average UM play is a 20 foot jumper.
Make some 3s, rebound, watch fouls and its a game
I smell something, but it's not a victory!
I despise everything Sparty.
but Coach B should take notes from Izzo on how to play D and make players play tougher and be tougher. We're too fucking soft right now.
I found a lucky penny. Surely that'll turn things around.
God, does that make this game hurt now.
I had a bad feeling about this game all year...because nothing makes Sparty come to play like a highly ranked Michigan team who is getting all the media love.
If the B1G refs hadn't screwed us against Wisco and hail mary threes weren't growing on trees in Madison, then I could deal with a shitty night in EL. Now, are B1G title hopes and number one seed hopes are slim to none, barring a miracle tonight.
Beilein needs to get some of the football players to come in for practice and beat the hell out of the team for a few practices. Stick Lewan under the basket and tell him to hammer anyone who comes close. Yet make the team still try to run their offense.
Let's put our All-American O-lineman AND our highly ranked BB team at risk.
We play like shit on ESPN in prime time.
Only Trey and THJ are competing. Look like she'll shocked frosh - too late in the season to play shell shocked.
