There was some commentary about Betsa playing through soreness, and she threw 164 pitches today. She was going to the off-speed pitches in key situations, over and over, presumably because she doesn't have full command over her fastballs (not even the rise, which is often her big KO pitch) right now. What was it, seven walks and 14 strikeouts? The umpire was consistent and didn't squeeze anyone. It's good to gut out a win, even when the opposition gifts you every run with throwing miscues. But I think Betsa needs a good long rest and there's no way she can get one. Alexander was terrific behind the plate. The offense struggled against a team that hasn't been shutting anyone out. They work counts well, get the pitches they deserve to hit, but just aren't making great contact.

This game means nothing for the standings, but it helps the RPI if you get it.

Not even a week after peppering Oklahoma all 3 games.........an 8 run lead against a decent B1G team.
