Michigan vs. Michigan State - Predict the Score

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

OK, we've had the random prediction thread, but now it's under 30 hours to kickoff before the big game, so let's put it on the line.  Predict the score.

I'm going to say 28-24 Michigan.  I think these games usual become more of a grind, and the score won't be as high people think it will be, as the largeness of the game usually has a more conservative bent.  Michigan gets the one "stop" that has Dantonio going for the FG that fans question afterwards.  Michigan doesn't score 42 because they attempt a couple of FGs themselves, but don't make them, stopping us from taking a big enough lead to ever have a breather.

I'm not thinking we're going to roll, I think MSU certainly can win this game. But I'm sticking to my thoughts that we should and need to win this game at home, and to continue on to the record I predicted before season (still on target....), this is a game I have us winning.

So, we'll have something to celebrate Saturday night. I may not make it through the game alive, so you may be celebrating without me, but I'll die a happy man.

What are you saying?

(And yes, I have no problem in this thread with people who want to rationally predict a Spartan win.  Assuming you're not a Spartan trolling).

Last night i had a dream that michigan wone 41-28. I also remember after the game tressel commenting on how he was surprised michigans run game other than robinson did so well. Also michigan jumped to #4 after the game, I doubt that could happen. GO BLUE

I tried to come up with a prediction and I popped a blood vessel in my eye. This game is about as unpredictable as they come... I just hope we pull it out somehow.

geez...do i gotta show the way yet again?  i did so with denard when he signed with us.... now i gotta do it again....

every prognosticator seems to think its gonna be a close game, with most favoring the Spartans.

Well I am here to tell you that there is a beatdown coming.... that we will win by 20+ pts, and figure  45-17 or in that area.

This is tough. Every time I think of any outcome or score I immediately think, "Wait, but if..."

I'll just pick because no one will put any weight into what I say, so it really doesn't matter. I'll be optimistic and say Cousins doesn't play well, which masks our pass defense, and Roh at DE helps contain Bell.

Michigan- 42
Michigan State- 34

I say Michigan is up late but Cousins has to start throwing, and our defense can't do a whole lot to stop it at this point. 2 FG's from MSU early.

Cousins rolls out playside on a called QB run from the 6. Roh is there to meet him, so he reverses course and then turns to look for a receiver or to chuck it OOB, only to look directly into the eyes of your avatar half an instant before a thunderous impact 5 yards into the end zone.

My prediction hasn't changed since last week...

Michigan 42, MSU 24.

And if Sparty pulls off the upset, I'm going to retaliate by firing the MSU grad who cuts my grass.

Michigan 48 - MSU 24

Our kicker misses an extra point for some damn reason, but our defense plays better than expected and gets MSU to turn the ball over 3 times in route to a nice victory for us.

You guys are refreshingly optimistic today. I hate the be the naysayer, but I just don't see our defense stepping up and stopping them. Our secondary is really porous. MSU beat a good Wisconsin team fairly convincingly with strong defense and capable offense.

I'd love to be totally wrong, but I'm afraid it's more likely to be something like MSU 33, Good Guys 30.

that Wisconsin is any good. Sparty came within a failed trick play of losing to ND, who we beat (also closely, but we were still getting it all together then). I think a common opponent is more telling.
