Stick your momentum shift up your ass! 40 seconds left in 2nd and State color guy is still a dickhead. EDIT: I type slow when I'm drunk, I guess. End of 2nd.

Haha...."Just when the Spartans were gaining momentum" I'll give them credit, the homerism is amusing to listen to.

When's the last time we ran Sparty out of their own building this bad? They kept their game at Munn close last year, IIRC. I felt good about this weekend, but crap, these guys are sounding like they team we were expecting! I really hope OSU can pull off the upset in Miami. An easier opponent with more hate value just down the road at The Joe. Couldn't ask for a better semifinal...

This is like a figurative Tropping, which is much better than the literal kind. It's nice to finally send 'em an eager counter-facebash. Our inability to do to so to MSU yet this year made things so much more miserable.

The crowd is pretty funny. I thought State scored for a second there, then realized it was all UofM fans cheering.

Interference call with 12:30 left. Announcers don't realize they are live for video even when it is a commercial for radio. Color guy: "I just didn't see this coming"

This fucker calling the game just quoted Hee-Haw! I'm as country as they come but even I think that is hilarious. EDIT: They are also bitching about how hard it is to sell tickets to this game, yet I don't hear any shortage of Blue fans in attendance. Face it, State, nobody likes you!

It seems to me the team is very conscious of their defensive assignments now that Hunwick is in there. He very rarely has to face a screen or a second shot (so far, and God willing, going forward). That may be a reflection of competition but it does seem like the players are more attentive to it.

The offense was maddeningly inconsistent. Noone ever misclassified Hogan as New Montoya, and--sure--he might not be so great, but this team struggles are multifactorial, to be sure. Besides, it could be argued that Hunwick is yet to start against a good team--even now. While trying not to devalue the Spartan's #2 seed (they did get there; and, hell, we certainly couldn't), I don't think they are anywhere near the caliber of a typical CCHA #2 seed ... which, let's be honest with ourselves contemporary CCHA comrades: That's a pretty big put down.

And that's where PurpleStuff's explanation fits well. On top of Hogan probably being less good than that for which he's being given credit (you know: the meh competition, etcetera), Michigan's defense is at its 2009-2010 zenith right now. That's helping a ton. "There's no shot on Hunwick ... There's no shot on Hunwick ..." (Clicking heels together.)

...in the books. "This has to be embarrassing for the Spartan home crowd." "Fans get your tickets for tomorrow night. There may be more available than tonight."
