Michigan Vs. Maryland Open Thread...

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

Here's your open thread for Michigan / Maryland - 'tis an awful weather day here in MI, but let's beat the Terrapins all the same. I, for one, have two glasses of port wine in me already, so I am set.

Uh, no.

I like the guy.  Would totally hang out and drink beer with him, but suggesting he should stay isn't right.  Arguing the Minnesota game was a "tough game against a quality opponent" is not valid.

The Big Ten is beyond pedestrian.  We are the new Big East in football.  (And the old Big East in basketball - booyah).

Ohio State was pushed by Indiana - who has one of the only two quality wins outside the conference (NW over ND).  Minnesota was blown out by TCU.  This is a horrible football conference right now.

Reflecting on Denard and Devin, on one hand it is awesome we've brought in a pair of explosive QBs.  However it seems to have cost us the ability to mitigate QB mistakes.  John Navarre or early career Henne both had flaws but the ten other guys around them could cover for them.  Whereas now it's totally dependent on one guy being hot every place or else pretty much doom.

With Denard I'll agree, but Devin has shredded B1G secondaries depsite the fact he has never had a dedicated QB coach and constant OC changes.  The current model of Devin we see on the field is not a great passer, but there was potential somewhere in all this.
