Michigan vs Maryland: 3:30 kickoff on BTN
To my knowledge, Michigan has only played two 3:30 November games. EDIT: 3:30 home games is what I meant. Urgh.
- 11/5/1988 vs Minnesota
- 11/9/2013 vs Nebraska
11/22 B1G FB confirmed: 12 ET: MN@NE (ESPN), PS@IL (E2), NU@PU (EU), IN@OS (BTN), RU@MS (BTN). 3:30 ET WI@IA (ABC, E2 mirror), MD@MI (BTN).

I may even go to the comedy club after the hockey game.

Who in the hell is going to watch this game besides Michigan fans, Maryland fans and Jim Delany?

3:30 on the BTN is as close as you can get to not being televised in the modern era.

We ask for more 3:30 kickoffs...they give us all 3:30 kickoffs except for Appalachian State for our worst home schedule in forever.

Michigan will blow Maryland out at home. Which will be great getting a bowl game. I doubt we can beat OSU on the road but you never know. If the defense can hold them close then some dumb play could give us a win over OSU. But that would mean they may keep Hoke one more season.

If they change it to 12 I'll be kind enough to watch, otherwise no. I'm old fashioned and prefer 12 kicks.

The Maryland football team's game at Michigan on Nov. 22 will kick off at noon on either ESPN, ESPN2, the Big Ten Network or ABC, the Terrapins announced Monday.
ANNOUNCED: @MarylandPride at Michigan game time will be NOON - Nov. 22, on BTN, ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. #GoTerps

Ha. I remember when they threw this out there and wondering how they knew since the announcement was coming from inside Maryland athletics and not from the networks. Obviously, they didn't know but apparently felt under some sort of pressure to wager a guess. Well done indeed, Maryland.

I want this team to kick ass
I still want Hoke fired, but I want this team to kick ass, and I want them to get a shot at someone decent in a bowl game.
After watching that ND game today, knowing we outgained them but still mangaged to goose-egg, while NW let them but up 40 points.
There's talent on this team, there are seniors that deserve a bowl, even if it's the fucking Kohler Toilet Bowl.
Fuck off as a fan if you don't want the fucking team to win.

I'm curious if Michigan ever played a hockey home game after a 3:30 home football game. I don't recall it ever happening. I kind of wonder if hockey doesn't get pushed back to 8:00 or 8:30 to help the fans who have hockey tickets but not football tickets.
November 16th, 2014 at 10:11 AM ^
wanted this to be a noon game. It's gonna be cold no matter what time this game is played, but there's no sense in making this late-November tussle between two non-contenders a late-afternoon game ending in darkness. The safety and welfare of 100,000 fans on their drive home should be near the top of the list of concerns, instead of the wishes of BTN.
Long-range forecast for Friday is snow and a high of 30, followed by sunny and 35 for game day.

waaaaay too much into what I posted above. Never said nor implied anything about "grave danger", only hinting that conditions for driving may be a bit better for 100,000 fans on their way home in daylight rather than darkness.
Tell me, then, why shouldn't late November early-evening darkness and potentially bad weather conditions be considered as part of the equation when determining kickoff time?
Yeah, afternoon and evening games happen all the times at all levels, like you say (including in other sports, too). Having lived my entire life in Michigan, though, I know what kind of weather conditions we all might be facing this time of year. I'm 99% certain I'll be there (barring blizzard-like weather) whether it's in the 20's or 50's that day. I just seems to me, though, that our athletic department might be better to take the stance in the future (like they used to) of telling the networks "kickoff is noon, be there if you want to televise it".
That said, I do concede that it's likely that BTN has a clause in their contract with the B1G that allows them to dictate times. Which, IMO, sucks.

Is the fact that Maryland ran for only six yards vs State a product of no Diggs and a loaded box or do they stink that badly?
Is it reproducible with our Clark-less defense?
November 16th, 2014 at 2:39 PM ^
Hey, my first post! I want the big blue to win and get a bowl bid so we can get the extra practises. I really don't care about the kickoff time cuz I'm stuck watching it on the computer
All I got to say is that my daughter is going to U of M and picked this semester to go study out of the country. With the schedule we had and the performance of this team, I gotta say she's one smart girl (takes after her dad)
Go Blue
November 16th, 2014 at 6:48 PM ^
Welcome to the board! One thing to be aware of, though, is Michigan fans don't refer to Michigan as "big blue," and you'll sometimes get hostile reactions around here for using that. My daughter's a dumbass (takes afer her father) and attended MSU (in reality she's smart and now in grad school).

I have certainly Seen This Movie Before with Nuss. I watched lot of MSU-Mry.
The Mry-D is active-- along the lines of what weve seen before with H-Ind @-MSU. DB-Fires LB-Stunts, which has Become The Norm v-MchO.
The Myr-D did a good job inside 10-ydline v-MSU in 1st-half. MSU likes to use a mix of OL-PULL scheme RunPlays, and the Mry-D did well v-these. They have a Big Bulky DT, who might end-up being All-B10 of one type or another.
The Mch-O has found this 30-VEER RunPlay, which has actually WORKED for these last 2-games.
But beyond this last point-- its The Same-Ol Same-Ol, with Nuss trying to figure HOW to sequence The RunPlay Calls within themselves, and then INTEGRATE the RunPlay Calls INTO the PassCalls.
In any event-- Nuss has Never Been Able to do this, in any Sustained Meaningful Way for the ENTIRE Year. An ENTIRE year.
