just a good play for Michigan, i think Vaughn got it. Michigan really seems to be controlling the game, LSSU has not really done too much yet.
1st goal of his career couldn't have come at a better time.
2 - 0 with a goal from Rohrkemper. Hunwick in goal still makes me kinda nervous, but he's been solid so far, & the team is playing well in front of him. Go Blue!
And just as I hit post, we score again! 3 - 0!
textbook example why ALL rinks should have TV replay available; ambiguous with the overhead angle, perfectly clear with the TV feed.
According to the radio guys, we're the only team in the CCHA to have this ability. That's seriously weak sauce, other teams! Get with the program.
If that is true i think the CCHA or universities, not sure who pays for the cameras, needs to do some serious investing into their video review. That is total BS that Yost is the only venue to have the overhead view on the nets.
If I understand it correctly, everyone in the CCHA has the overhead view, but we're the only ones with anything beyond that.
listened to the most recent 'the red berenson show' on wtka and red had mentioned the cost of the equipment was $5000.
ccha needs to pass the hat or something. 5k is not a bank breaker.

Basically, the league needs two, asked Michigan to buy one (fair since it was Red pushing hard for it and we're not exactly in need of funds) and said they'd pick up the other. They didn't pick up the other one, so while we have video replay because we held up our side of the bargain, other rinks don't because the CCHA dropped the ball. Red is unhappy.
the league is run by a mason taught sparty putz. and we wonder why the referring sucks harder now than it use to.
Michigan up 3-0, Caporusso with the goal. Goal was reviewed, LSSU dislodged the net. Net came of before the puck was seen crossing the line, ref was right behind the net when he called it. Pretty interesting goal with how much the net came off.
Mmmm own goals
the MSU spring break is next week: Mon, 3/8-Fri, 3/12
so, i wonder if tix will be available?
as the Munn crowd is anemic to begin with, it would really help if our fans outnumber theirs in their own building
will the students/public be able to purchase tickets for the games that weekend?
and buy buy buy, outnumber the Sparties

Talking with our hockey guy before he left to watch UAF take on W. Mich, he predicted that Michigan would outnumber Michigan State in Munn. Of course, he also predicted lots of fights and suggested the CCHA might need six refs for that game ...
Hunwick actually looks pretty respectable tonight. Let's hope he gets his confidence up because I'm sure it will be a big difference playing on the road next week.
Anyone else think that hit did not warrant a penalty?
Happened right in front of me and, yes, the call was bull patties.
Start buying your tickets to outnumber the Spartans next Friday and Saturday.
UPDATE: 6-0
it would be highly unfortunate if BG or WMU pull off a miraculous upset and make U-M play Ferris or NMU after everyone bought tix for Munn
The game is not over yet but BGSU is losing and probably out and now we just have to hope that Alaska wins tomorrow, if they don't pull it out tonight. I would hate to see Michigan have to make a trip up to the UP.
Jesus, how much longer you going to leave Mahoney-Wilson in?
Whoa, and we have a Brian sighting. Chillin' in the ample seating in the student section. Surprisingly his head does not have the angelic halo that I expected.
Kampfer goes +6 for the night. Simply unbelievable.
What's to neg here? I'm looking at the box score right now to make sure I'm correct, and sure enough, Steve Kampfer +6.
The kid had a great night in his final game at Yost. Isn't that worth noting?
I think I'd rather have MSU next so that we have the benefit of a best-of-3 scenario. I'd hate to get them in the semis and then have an off night to help them get to the Finals.
Edit: What the heck? I thought the Alaska-WMU series was tied 1-1? CCHA.com had WMU winning by a score of 5-3 earlier.
The game is in Alaska. And won't be done for hours. No way it's 1-1.
hmmm, CCHA.com must've been glitching up royally then. I was confused. They need a technological upgrade across the board, not just arena cameras.
Game hasn't even started yet. CCHA's been glitchy a lot lately.

Question: Should there be goalie interference due to a WMU making a run on the net, will the bear use laser beams or fighter jet bombs in retaliation?

alaskananooksblog: GREAT question, I will ask at the intermission

I suggest lasers.
Bombs for the WMU player and lasers for the ref that missed the call. Obvs.
Where has this been all year?
Alaska wins, 4-1. All home teams advance to next round of the playoffs.
