the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
Michigan vs. IUPUI mens basketball open thread
defense needs work, but this looks like a really good team
Go Blue
OOEY POOEY is hitting everything.
It is IUPUI. Therefore, it would be EEYW POOEY. Which I like better anyway.
"This is the EMU game, not the emo game."
I live in Indiana. Trust me on this.
damn iupui raining it down from the arc. not bad perimeter D from Michigan, either.
GERG-esque D in this one. Gotta wonder if pushing the tempo like this is gonna run this team down on defense all year.
IUPUI's shooting is bound to cool off. Also, GR3 is unbelievable. Really hope he stays on campus for a few years.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Pulling some Mcgary motor right there
I can only continue to reference the fact that I live in an onion factory.
I really like Bruce Pearl as a commentator. The guy definitely knows his stuff.
Special Teams means special times!
Stay in the game if he can't hit his open threes. That is the only thing he does well.
When you reach the end of your rope tie a knot and hold on...
Yeah. I like the guy but Stauskas seems like a better option. Morgan looks awesome tonight!

IUPUI is getting away with quite a bit of hand checking and reaching in, I guess this is a good tune up for B1G play in terms of the referees.
Blank.....Blank......You're not looking at the big picture here.
GRIII is really good. Also Vogrich isn't going to start all season.

We are killing the 3 ball this year...We need to work on our post game...Morgan or McGary have to have some sort of back-to-the-basket arsenal
That was Morgan? I be like dang!
Michigan Resurgent? Michigan Resurgent!
The beatings will continue until the uniforms improve!
Is anyone else enjoying Bruce Pearl's announcing so far?
Call Mr. Plow, that's my name, that name again is Mr. Plow
Have yet to see Jon Horford, what's the deal with him? I know he injured his knee during practice, but I thought I read that he'd be fine.
3:51 left in the half and we're into the "Cool Story Bro" part of the broadcast.
Holy moly this team can shoot.
"It would be a travesty, it would be ridiculous to all of a sudden come back and get the feeling back, get the health back, feel good again and then all of a sudden go throw some other colors on my shirt and go coach."
Dear Tim Hardaway Jr.,
Please quit taking contested long 2 pt jumpers,
k thnx.
Hail to the Victors!
Tim still forcing it at times.
Except for the other thing. That hurts the most. But the lack of respect hurts the second most.
It's still early, and maybe it's because I played basketball for a defensive minded coach, but hopefully Beilein shores up the defense over the course of the season. This will probably end up a blowout, but playing good D is going to be crucial for a team that has no problem scoring.
Hail to the Victors!
The game is relatively close but we are playing great, at least on offense. Hard to imagine this game staying close in the second half.
is Jordan Morgan's new nickname "The Deathstar?"
Me fail English? That's unpossible!
They're giving Morgan a lot of room inside off of his cuts..hopefully we feed him a little bit down there in the 2nd half
"Slappin' the Bass" - Matt Vogrich (maybe)
This team can certainly score.
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Burke's cross-over dribble is looking a lot better this season. The one on that last drive reminded me a great deal of how Jimmer would set people up before crossing them over.
I'm glad we got Stauskas this year...Burke is going to be looking at serious NBA $ at the end of the year.
I hope he is by season's end, but I don't think he is a top pick at this point. He is a very good college point guard, but he over dribbles at times, still has a tad too many turnovers and has questionable decision making at times. Don't take this as me saying I want anyone else as M's point guard, but he is undersized by NBA standards and unless he develops more as a playmaker and cuts down on TOs and questionable decisions he won't be a top pick IMO.
Hail to the Victors!
If he demonstrates better decisionmaking this year, while continuing to be able create off the dribble, he'll probably play himself to a late 1st round pick.
After flirtingwith the NBA as a fringe second-rounder, I think the temptation maybe too much for Trey.
Don't get me wrong; would love him to stay, but I don't begrudge him the chance...
Him and Spike are ggoing to be really important to this program, Stauskas to spread the floor with his shot and Spike as a reliable ball-handler to give Trey a breather now and to be a stabilizer if a freshman Derrick Walton isn't ready immediately next year
"Slappin' the Bass" - Matt Vogrich (maybe)
Some iffy D, and not much inside game.
HOWEVA! When you can shoot 70% on 3's against D1 competition, well... screw the inside game!

Both of those issues should improve when we get McGary and Horford (both of whom could be better than Morgan) healthy. This team has crazy talent.
"Michigan Defense" is dominating everything, in every aspect of life. That's a rough definition.

Cut to Texas just in time to see this Prince character throw up a free throw even Shaq would laugh at. How can you play basketball and be that bad of a shooter?

GRIIII is good at basketball
Vogrich needs to live up to his recruiting hype as a shooter into practical use
Jordan Morgan still scares me every time he touches the ball
McGary needs to lose some weight and get in game shape
Would like to see Horford have some luck staying healthy.
Thankfully, Bruce Pearl is a better announcer than a coach
Agree on Vogrich. At this point I think Robinson and Stauskas are far better shooters.

So many open looks for IUPUI...the defense scares me going forward.
