Well I haven't seen one posted, so here it is. Michigan up 25-13 with 8:20 left in the first half.
... says that it's an open thread. so I think there is one already, but all is well.
I just noticed that as well, now I feel dumb. Mods go ahead and delete.
We'd be up by 18 if they made free throws. How do you T up Morris on that?
WTF is up with Tim Doyle's stach? Doenst the BTN pay people to make sure its on air personalities dont look like Pedro from Nepolian Dynomite?
I just threw up
one of the most non-happening mustaches of all times.
Keep posting the score please I have know access to the big 10 right now. Thanks
Its raining threes!
Tom Crean was at my high school's basketball game.
9 remaining. Crowd just did a penalty box goodbye to indianas #5
Has the quietest 19 I've seen in some time. Teams just getting better and better
Timmmmmay! 61-42 Michigan
Tearing an Indiana fan a new one during the break
Timmmmayyyy 2 times!!! 64-44. I wanna see 30 from him!!
Is really starting to mature. It would be nice to seem them go to the dance, just to see how much they can learn from the experience.
Not this again..
To get there IMO they're going to need to beat Iowa & MSU and at least one of the three tough games remaining: Illinois, Wisconsin & Minnesota. That'll put them at 19-12 going into the tourney. Win one and then out and they're 20-13 and a definite maybe. Win two and then I think we're in.
Of course I'm assuming we dont throw this one away......
Hardaway and Morris are going to be quite the dynamic tandem as they progress through their collegiate careers.
Needs to practice their FTs.
Why do the last two games make me think our practice sets for the end of games is to throw our arms into the air and run around wildly screaming at the top of their lungs? It's unreal how good we can play in one stretch only to be followed by periods of unbelievable futility and what looks suspiciously like panic.
We definitely go out of our way to let teams back into games they have NO business being in.
Can we a close a game?!!?
Gaaaaah, free throws! I'm going to have a goddamn heart attack.
Will someone make a F*ing free throw!!!
For being a team that focuses on shooting beyond the arc, how can we be such a poor free throw shooting team?
I'm losing it right now..
This team has no shot at making the tournament.. Next year maybe, but still so young and inexperienced.. no way in hell Indiana should be within one posession in this game. We were up by 22..
have "a shot." Making it past the first round, not so much.
Make the god damn free throws.
My wife came downstairs to watch the game when we were up 22. I have sent her back upstairs.
I'm sorry guys...this one's on me/
The only way a wife can't jinx a sporting event upon entering a room is if she is providing a sandwich.
Well at last the question has been answered. My wife is not the only one to jinx a team.
I have been sitting here wondering what I did to blow that lead. Its good to learn that it wasn't me. That game sucked but a win is a win nonetheless. GO BLUE!!!
Time for a 5 sec violation and a 4pt play.
Good win. Getting closer to the tourney..
That was not a good win at all... Indiana finished the game on something like a 25-5 run... that is completely unacceptable. Its not like we had our B-squad out there either. It was our complete lack of discipline on D and utter inability to hit a free throw that doomed us. Part of me wishes we didnt win because frankly, we really didnt deserve the W. I know this team is young but this was a disaster and I am fuming at how weve been playing at the end of games during the past two weeks.
Usually, I don't call it a "disaster" when we win games, but maybe I'm in the minority. We don't usually shoot FTs like that, so it's not something to get too worked up about.. They have to do better on D late, but you take a win and move on.
None of me wishes we didn't win, because I'm not a moron.
always better to learn after a win than after a loss. I would bet the locker room was fairly subdued after the game.
We kicked Indiana's ass up and down the floor for 35min. In the last 5 we stopped playing our style and let them come back. No one watching today can say we didn't deserve it.
But no way you leave a game like this feeling good about yourselves.
Well, hopefully the team starts to realize that no lead is a comfortable one. And to make your god damn free throws.
A lot to clean up on the press break. You can bet when it is worked on in practice, the coaches will have their full attention. Good win and too many valuable learning experiences to count in that last 10 minutes.
3-2 from here gets them to .500 and into the tournament IMO. With Wisconsin, Michigan State at home and 3 road games they will definitely have to earn it.
IMO its going to take us more than 3-2 to go dancing... Maybe 3-2 with a deep run in the Big Ten Tourny does the trick but Id be much more comfortable with a 4-1 finish and a win or two in the Big Ten Tourny to get us to the ball.
More bids for mediocre teams, so 3-2 and a BTT win will do it.
No it won't. If moral victories counted, it would, but this team does not have a signature win. We have losses to NW, IU and UTEP. Winning 3 in a row is fun but let's not get carried away, especially since we blew a 20 pt lead at Crisler today.
There is no "signature win" requirement to make the tournament. We needed them to get in last time because we finished tied for 7th in a Big Ten conference that had only two ranked teams at season's end.
UTEP is 18-5 and in first place in Conference USA. They will likely be a top-50 team by season's end. That is not a bad loss by any stretch.
Michigan is alone in 6th place in the Big Ten right now (the second rated conference in the country this year). If State loses to OSU we'll be tied for 5th before our next game. We have a mid-50's RPI right now and a top-15 SOS. Going 3-2 down the stretch would require beating two of Minnesota, MSU, Wisconsin, and Illinois (all top-50 teams).
It may not be likely yet, but every win gets us that much closer to 9-9 and that record plus an opening round win in the conference tourney almost certainly gets us in at this point.
