GTFO Crean. That one's copyrighted, bitch.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
Think that's pretty cool of him to admit it, he's still a prick but awesome to know Bo has touched so many people!
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:12 PM ^
Poor play, Props to MMG and TB. Otherwise, not so much, including the coaching. Love the kids, love the staff, but better is needed to go deep in the tourney.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:12 PM ^
Beat ohio next. Watch Independence day and have another beer now.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:13 PM ^
1. Indiana
2. Michigan
3. Florida
?
Can't imagine we get docked much for losing by 8 on the road at the Indiana while KU lost at how to Okie St
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
I would say they switch Florida and Michigan. It's the SEC, man
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
I say we flip spots with indiana, florida will be number 2....also with oladipo's bs dunk at the buzzer it was a 10pt. loss
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:18 PM ^
It got waved off.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:18 PM ^
Florida will jump us.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:14 PM ^
How soon before we get a "I love this team thread"?
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:14 PM ^
We better stay high ranked. KU lost at home to an unranked team. Syracuse lost. Florida plays no one. We should still be #2.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:16 PM ^
Mi was a 9 point under dog. Still concerning tho can't get that big win on the road. Typical of Belien
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:18 PM ^
Typical of many, many, many coaches in the NCAA. Hard go.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:18 PM ^
1 Indiana
2 Florida
3 Duke
4 Michigan
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:14 PM ^
Next few years will be fun to watch, with all this talent and only loosing Burke wow
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:14 PM ^
I will take this team in March on a neutral court vs anybody. Also calling a Michigan/Indiana/MSU + 1 random team final 4 if the bracket allows
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:16 PM ^
Forget vegas for March madness. Im going to watch Michigan and turn that neutral site our way.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
Don't bitch about the officiating. Yeah, there were a handful of bad calls (there are in every single basketball game) but we've had worse.
We had way, way too many wasted possessions in which our primary distributor didn't try to get his teammates involved and started launching from deep. Burke's got to fight the urge to be a mad bomber.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:16 PM ^
I WILL bitch about officiating because it was atrocious.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:21 PM ^
By Assembly Hall standards, it was pretty good. It was not the difference in the game. IU outplayed us. That possession with two minutes left where Zeller dove for a loose ball while GRIII stood and watched pretty much summed it up. We did not play with composure.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:27 PM ^
At worst that is a foul on the floor.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:36 PM ^
That was a bad call, but it's not like this game came down to one play. If we let that call defeat us, that's on us. I think IU was more aggressive most of the night and the officials generally reward that.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:50 PM ^
that call was a little bit more than bad, it was flat out atrocious. The continuation was bad enough, not even factoring in the obvious travel before the foul.
Like I said I do agree your overall sentiments though, Michigan didn't play a good ballgame on either end of the court.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:24 PM ^
then you clearly haven't watched enough basketball in your life. Atrocious officiating is Game 6 of the Kings-Lakers series in 02 or the entire Heat-Mavs series in 06. Considering the environment, the officiating was as good as we could have hoped for. If you want to convince yourself that the refs were somehow more responsible for this loss than Burke, Stauskas and GR3, then that's just like....your opinion man. It just happens to be wrong.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:16 PM ^
I lost my voice screaming 'pass the damn ball!'
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:20 PM ^
I didn't see many bad calls but it seemed like Indiana was getting more calls. The FT difference was one of the differences in this game.
Burke's missed FT really hurt.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:29 PM ^
Indiana attacked the basket most of the game. We consistently settled for outside shots. It's not surprising that they would have more FT attempts.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
Take care of business at home, beat Ohio State on Tuesday and Michigan State and Indiana in March. We are still in good shape to win the Big 10.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
Just saw the Oladipo dunk. He's going to really regret that when he comes to Crisler
February 3rd, 2013 at 9:18 AM ^
Where'd you find it? I turned away at the end of the game and didn't see it.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:16 PM ^
And not spot them double digits.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:17 PM ^
Minnesota not a few weeks ago.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:20 PM ^
Coached by Tubby Smith? Chronic underachievers with all that athletic ability and talent? Good win but not an elite road win.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:27 PM ^
They've shown they were frauds.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:28 PM ^
Nope. Big games are ohio, Indiana, MSU. Haven't beat an elite team yet this year.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:16 PM ^
Without our 3s falling (until way too late) I feel good about splitting with them. Picked IU to win by 8, close except for Victor the douche. I picked us to split with OSU, IU, and mSU... So there's that.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:17 PM ^
Watches and says "they don't get many people involved in the offense", that's a problem. Granted, it's a good team but two very good defensive efforts have shut them down.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:31 PM ^
shut them down. Michigan missed quite a few makeable/open shots.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:17 PM ^
Officiating was not bad. Our defense and shot selection were horrible.
February 3rd, 2013 at 9:48 AM ^
Yes it was. It may not have been the difference but it's ridiculous that Zeller didn't have a single foul the entire game, as was the Oladipo continuation, among others. I don't consider it a conicidence that Hardaway and Burke both had three and four fouls respectively halfway through the second half while IU's main scoring option didn't have one.
Bottom line: Oladipo is a clown. Now go win two of the next three, protect home court, then hammer IU at Crisler. Big Ten Champs of the outright variety.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:18 PM ^
The thing that makes me mad watching them vs IU and OSU is that they don't even run any kind of offense as far as I can tell. They just go one way over a screen, then go back the other way screening again. then they pass and it starts all over again until they have to drive on a triple team or jack up a contested three with under five seconds left on the shot clock. All those drive and kicks and all that good stuff just goes away when they play great teams. They just run high ball screens the entire time and it just doesn't work.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:20 PM ^
We're 20-2, it's not like it never works.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:28 PM ^
That's because it's not all they did in the other 20 games...hence why I said the other plays went away tonight and vs OSU. They don't just run screens at the point every game, but that's what it seemed like in their two losses.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:31 PM ^
you were watching. I saw quite of few makeable/open shots that were created and simply missed. OSU is the only team that has actually shut them down.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:40 PM ^
Not that many, at least not as many open looks as usual. I'm kind if surprised you didn't notice the multiple times where something like this would happen:
1) Trey goes over Mcgary screen. 2) Trey reverses direction and goes over another Mcgary screen. 3) Trey passes to someone (usually Stauskas) who goes over a screen set usually by Hardaway. 4) that player passes back to Trey. 5) Process repeats until the shot clock runs down. 6.a) Shoot contested three or 6.b) Try driving into multiple defenders and shoot a contested two point jumper or (rarely) a contested layup.
That seriously was the one thing I was noticing all game long in both losses. Yeah there's other factors, but you can't expect repeating the above sequence to generate consistent points.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:48 PM ^
or so open looks in the first half. Also contested or not I would consider the layups Michigan missed to be decent looks. I don't think UM generated as many open shots as Indiana, but that has more to do with shot selection than the way Indiana defended them. I just disagree with the notion that the best point guard having the ball in hands, creating for himself and others is not a consistent way to generate points.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:18 PM ^
Well given the way we played, it's amazing we didn't lose by 20. I feel very good about our chances at Crisler.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:19 PM ^
At first I wasn't too upset that we lost to a good IU team. Then Oladipo (windmill dunk) and Crean (The Team comments) decided to go full douche mode. Screw them and their stupid candy stripe pants.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:19 PM ^
Oladipo is a cockbag. Time for a good, hard foul the next time that jizzstain drives the lane.
Tom Crean can fall down a flight of stairs.
February 2nd, 2013 at 11:23 PM ^
beats them.
The dunk will should be motivation but the main issue was not keeping him from driving. The entire night he made it to the basket.
