Michigan vs Charlotte Predictions

Submitted by goblue16 on
Lets get our minds off of football for a bit and focus on bball. Big game today against the 49ers. I watched them against northeastern. Not overly impressed but I never underestimate a team especially in basketball. What are your insights and predictions for this game? I think its close early and we pull away in the second half Michigan-75 Charlotte- 62

Charlotte is no slouch.  That being said, I think we take a 3-5 pt halftime lead and run away and hide in the 2nd half.  M wins by 12-17 points depending on FT shooting Charlotte 3 pt shooting in the last 2-3 minutes.

Stauskus picks up where he left off against FSU driving hard to the lane while hitting some threes.  U of M cruises to a 82-68 victory, Stauskus drops 30, McGary with another double double.

Yay for positivity!

That FSU game was huge for this team. We always knew they had a lot of grit, especially fighting back in the Kansas game last year, but Friday night only further proved it.

Big win today, gain some more momentum heading into the showdown with Duke. Stauskas continues to do what he does, and McGary keeps getting back to form.

I don't want to start a new thread on this, but does anyone know if the Women's soccer game is on TV or radio?  I have interested parties in the household, but live out of state.

Thanks

TeamRankings matchup profile. Young season, sample size, etc....all apply, of course:

Avg Score Margin +6.8   +16.0
Assists/Game 12.4   16.6
Total Rebounds/Gm 40.8   38.6
Effective FG % 49.5%   53.8%
Off Rebound % 34.8%   27.4%
FTA/FGA 0.566   0.333
Turnover % 16.8%   11.3%
Defense
Charlotte Michigan
Opp Points/Game 73.0   63.8
Opp Effective FG % 49.4%   47.7%
Off Rebounds/Gm 11.2   9.0
Def Rebounds/Gm 26.6   26.2
Blocks/Game 4.2   2.4
Steals/Game 7.8   7.0

It isn't really possible to draw strong conclusions based on the averages to date, but I would be confident in Michigan by a comfortable margin (10-12 points) in this one.
