Michigan vs. Alabama Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
OK, all the main afternoon games are decided. Show time. You know what you want to talk about now. Maybe they have a Liveblog set up under the new specs, but we all love an open thread, no? Feel free to talk about the other games of interest on commercial breaks. Let's Go Blue!

I'm all for making Denard a better passer, but damn when shit is not workin, it's not workin! Quit throwing deep everytime. First couple series we were throwing quick routes, the wr's were just dropping catches. Quick routes is what we need. Oh and let Denard do his thing. Maybe drunk, but come on! Let's make this another UTL!!!

If we were playing North Texas or Navy or Fla Atlantic how much more enjoyable this game would be ...

Stop turning over the ball and we could turn this thing around. Not saying we'll win, but we can give ourselves at least a shot if Denard sets himself loose and stops turning the ball over. The offense looked just as bad during UTL last year

I never thought this game should have been scheduled, even after last year.  I just didn't think we were ready.  But not even I was expecting this.

My main fear for the past year was our running game going nowhere and Denard throwing up prayers that are begging to get picked off.  But his two picks so far haven't been prayers, they have been RIGHT to Bama receivers.

At this point, I'm more worried about Denard's shoulder than this game.

Instead of feasting on a cupcake, they are getting to see what the team will look like after 2 more Hoke recruiting classes.  This year's seniors have seen the depth of despair while we hoped and prayed just to make a bowl.  They've come a long way, but this team isn't ready for the promised land.

No doubt a game like this prepares the players and the coaches to own the B10.  We're not there yet, but this game makes more more confident that Michigan will be playing in the Rose Bowl this year and BCS bowls until the BCS goes away.

After 1 year of Hoke was a terrible idea .... I could understand it 2014 but this was way to soon... I will always be an advocate of playing cupcakes to prepare for the season , to groom younger players getting them some PT and to work out the kinks ...You just dont do this to a team that really isnt on Bama's level

The game was scheduled in 2010 while RichRod's squads were putting up the worst records in school history.  The theory was we would be better by Denard's senior year...which is true.  But certainly not good enough to challenge Bama.

We are very capable of getting back in this game. Stop whining and freaking out. After a horrible start we have shown that we can stop them. It can't get any worse than that half, and it can get a whole hell of a lot better. They way most of you are acting is an embarrassment to these fine young men, this blog, and to yourselves. Get a hold of yourselves and act like Men(and women).

...and this has probably been mentioned, but...

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY IT MAKES ANY SENSE TO NOT GIVE THE FOOTBALL TO YOUR MOST EXPLOSIVE PLAYER?!?

Al is trying to show how smart he is instead of doing his #1 job: get the ball to your playmakers.  Two carries for Denard is not only inexcusable, it is criminal.

I really wanted to believe Michigan had a shot at this game and they did, but I didn't think they'd get steam rolled the way they are.  I just want to see Michigan come out in the second half and put up some points.

I understand this is very discouaging but three things

1. the game isn't over, much time left.

2. Alabama is BY FAR the best team michigan is going against this year

3. Special Teams and O-Line seems solid
