Tough to travel this soon after Hawaii. They just look out of sync on both ends.
Michigan-Virginia B-Ball Open Thread
Michigan shouldnt need those...
beat Iowa State on saturday
somehow they get away with murder on defense
THJ never even got off the bus.
Hell, he's still in Hawaii. In retrospect, JB probably kept him out too long in the first half. Oh well...
Tough to win shooting 33% with 0!! offensive rebounds. This team is bound for better nights then tonight
Shit. That is all.
what would a season be if we weren't on the tourney bubble.
Our confidence is so fragile. Most embarrassing half of basketball I can remember in a long while. Bad coaching (Novak on Scot), bad focus (travels, turnovers) and bad shots (hardaway forgetting that passing is a valid option, too). Putrid putrid basketball.
Credit Virginia they have smothered us on defense, but my god Stu Douglass has the worst shot selection ever, you would think 4th year in the offense would make a difference but it hasn't.
Look tired and lazy oout there. No offensive sets, too much dribbling
Seriously, does every team wait until they play Michigan to start knocking down 3s? It is like Duke all over again.
See all those offensive rebounds, they're out hustling us. Dropping 3s isn't the issue
Forget this, I'm going to take out some aggression in MW3. Stupid basketball...had to ruin my football high.
It's one game, they have plenty more left. Relax, this is still a young team aside from the Novak/Douglass combo.
The Island of Misfit Toys was on the OTHER channel? I must have tuned into the wrong thing after all...
How much would this loss hurt us?
Depends. If we play up to expectations this year it shouldn't matter at all. For the top tier of team that are going to make he tournament, any given regular season game is borderline meaningless.
a lose ball is not a foul i guess wtf
Let's be honest we've had one game where we weren't shit all year: Memphis. I trust we'll get it together but not much to inspire confidence so far.
We played tough against Duke. They just hit everything. They're good.
UCLA too. Not a real good team, but we didn't let them look good either.
Anyone want to talke about that???
I like where thats going
there is no way we should have played this game away.
You can thank Nebraska.
Because we had a choice...
Well this is no fun.
Until I see who it ISN'T, When they talk about Virginia having Tony Bennett on the sidelines, I think to myself, "That's awesome!"
Just a bad effort all around.
Well that was fun got our ass's kicked now Im going back to getting my ass kicked in biochemistry what a great night
Word. Horrible day of class, this, and now four more hours of studying.
I just don't even know what to think after this steaming pile. We came out with no heart and no effort. Virginia looks horrible, this could really end up haunting our RPI. I think anyone would beat us the way we played tonight.
Yeah, Morgan and stu look super wimpy tonight. Scared of their own shadows.
I just had my 'double post' cherry popped.
Nothing you can do when a team shoots the lights out like this. Major match up problems with thus team. That dudes hair just killed us.
Losing to the unranked UVA boys kind of dampens the fun a bit. Maybe they'll turn out to be a good team, but this seems like a let down following Memphis & Duke performances.
Doesn't seem like we had much luck hitting our shots, and there were a few silly calls.
this VA team is not that good. they have 1 maybe 2 decent shooters. we just got completely outhustled on the boards and constantly dribbled into traffic, turning the ball over or forcing bad shots. beilein will have a field day with this in practice this week.
Who else wants a drink?
As much as I hate to say it. We'll never be a consistent team until we get a big man down low that we can go to when we are struggling to find our shots. We don't have that and it hurts as you can see tonight. We let that skinny ass 5th year senior Scott take control of this game and I doubt he has another game like this the rest of the season. I am so disgusted losing to this team. I really hope they prove me wrong and end up being a decent team. (UVA that is)
If Beilein teams were only judged by how they play in December he'd have been fired 5 times over. It's how he has them playing in February and March that matters.
I am a bit concerned with this performance, but I have confidence that we will be fine when the NCAA tournament rolls around.
Anybody else think we are expecting way to much of Hardaway? I mean he was above average last year and had a good summer, but he no longer has Morris to feed him the rock and he has appeared to disappear from parts of games. He will be good but hes not a superstar yet.
Beilein is going to be livid about that half. Five individuals and not a team.
Beilein is going to be mad at himself and the coaching staff when he goes back and watches the tape. He let a great opportunity slip by in the first half to really put some points up on a team that struggles to score. Given the large amount of prep time, they also had a poor offensive game plan to go up against that type of switching defense. I lost count of the # of times they dribbled into a double team at the top of the key which through the motion offense out of sync. Guh. Even great coaches can have a bad game.
