Michigan third in coaches poll

Submitted by ChalmersE on
Michigan dropped from second to third in the coaches poll. Top 5: Indiana Florida Michigan Duke Kansas. If I had to bet Florida will wind up first before the tourney begins. They're not likely to lose more than another game, if even one.

Can we get a rumor or any last minute commitment surprise to the 2013 class board going? Hoping for a surprise, wont be sad if we dont, like the 2013 class the way it is..poggi will hopefully stay so dont include him..any rumors or anything intresting that anyone has possibly heard..please no edwards either..class sounds done but just wondering was kind of excited about the sills thing for about 5 mins til it got debunked.

What? Why would you post this here and not on the Sills thread? Besides, if there's some info remotely worth being the base of a new thread, then someone who contributes enough on here to have the privilege to create threads will create it. Starting a "rumors" thread (substantiated or not) just for shits and giggles sounds like a terrible idea and a nightmare for the mods.

Michigan got nothing from two of their best players, and still stayed within eight on what might be the toughest road trip in college basketball.

Our average ranking in the AP poll among individual voters was 3.08, and the distribution for Michigan was as follows:

- 21 votes for 2nd place

- 22 votes for 3rd place

- 18 votes for 4th place

- 4 votes for 5th place

Indiana had 58 votes for 1st place and Florida had 7 votes for 1st place.

Win our next three and we move back to #1 IMO.  Win two of three (win tomorrow and split the Wisconsin/MSU road games) and we'll probably drop back to #5 depending on what others do.  Lose two of three or worse and we'll drop out of Top 10 for a while.

The good news is that no matter what happens I dont see another loss on our schedule after the current stretch is done which means anywhere from 26-5 (if we lose all three - unlikely as Hell) or 28-3 if we only lose one.  And 28-3 going int to the B1G tourny will DEFINITELY earn as a #1 seed and that is the most important thing to me right now.

Florida beats up on nobodies. Ole Miss is/was vastly overrated, Kentucky is having a down year, and the rest of the conference is a joke. Florida has a good team, but I'm not convinced they can be #1 until they go out and beat a legitimately good team. Their strength of schedule can't hold a finger to ours.
