Michigan target Anthony Barr out for the season
It appears Barr broke his ankle in his second game of the year. I hope we stay on this kid like we did with Vlad. He's the type of athlete we need to start recruiting on D.

Barr's dad played at ND. Barr attended ND's camp and his only official visit is to ND. USC isn't recruiting Barr too much. Yeah, still possible that coaching staff could swipe Barr from ND, but all signs are pointing toward Barr signing with ND.

I wonder how excited Barr is about ND after watching them lose to UofM and with the prospect of Weis being fired at the end of the year.

No, "source". But, I know Gardners coach growing up, younger kids league. Gardner visits him here and there. He told him he is thinking about Illinois. But, I don't agree with it because they already got a QB in this years class, same school as kyle prater.
WHo knows though, maybe he is thinkng about this because Tate is tearing it up. Maybe he will eventually understand sitting and watching or only getting few reps a game could be best for him his 1st yr or 2(Ala Vince Young)

your previous posts there's probably something to this. he should sit back and think about how bad illinois is and then come to his senses. he'd be the backup from day 1 at UM and get good minutes as a RS frosh if he did redshirt. picking illinois over Michigan would be a huge mistake for him IMO

Ha, Gardner must be smoking crack if he thinks Illinois is going to make him a good QB. Zook's team is already struggling this year with Juice and Benn, a senior QB and a top junior WR; I can't imagine what next year is going to look like.
Illinois had one nice year under Zook (07 Rose Bowl year), but other than that, there's no signs that the program is making any progress. I suppose the opportunity to play from day 1 presents itself, but hey, never know what these kids think nowadays.

Barr's uncle also went to Notre Dame. Dad is Tony Brooks and uncle is Reggie Brooks. But, who knows, if Weis is fired and there is upheaval, maybe any number of likely ND recruits step back and rethink their futures.

I hate to say it but I think we have about as much of chance of landing Barr as we do having R_mahorn and McFarlin making intelligent posts.
