Michigan State Vs. Wisconsin

Submitted by GoBlue_55 on

Please be kind, it's my first thread. Who do we want to win this game? I will never cheer for Sparty, but if it's necessary, I guess I can hope they win the game. Honestly, I'm more concerned about the seating for the Big Ten Tournament. I think a good showing will propel us to a #1 seed

(Slight Mod Edit - the original title was causing minor confusion. LSA)

I'm struggling with this game.  I know the best scenerio is for MSU to win.  If so, and we beat IU, we are in perfect position at the 2 or 3 seed.

However, if we lose to IU (bare with me, I'm just saying *if*), a Wiscy win would be better for us, still giving us that 4 seed.

But more powerful, much more powerful emotionally is that I would love to keep MSU from getting a share of *OUR* Big Ten Championship Titile.  Sure, if Wiscy and UM both win, we will likely be the 4th seed and have to play MSU plus two top teams in the BTT.  Maybe I just don't care enough about that.  I would love to see MSU lose.

Am I wrong?

I need confirmation or advice.

It would be great to see MSU lose once again and not get a share of our title.

btw, I didn't have a hard time rooting for OSU the other day.  Beating IU gave UM a much greater benefit than simply one easier game in the BTT.  And frankly, I have more hate for MSU basketball.  I keep watching this game and cheering everything bad MSU does.

He freaks out about just about every foul called on MSU. I imagine he sits in the film room and proclaims "That is the fifth straight game where I didn't see our team commit a single foul! Why do the refs keep calling fouls on us??"

Watching WBB crush indiana in the B1G Tournament on BTN, and I flip the channel to see this score. And I'm looking like

Izzo needs to clean the sand out of his vagina. Look at this little troll crying to the refs on literally every call. Sure, Tom. You thugs NEVER commit infractions. Its just all bad calls by the refs (oh, and that Delaney-led conspiracy to keep MSU down).

I think it is possible that if this game continues to be this ugly, the Big Ten might only credit the winner with a half W, meaning this could work out very well for us after all.

This is just as ugly as when these teams played in Madison.  In the final minute of that game, Wisconsin missed 6 free throws to hand Sparty the win 49-47.

Amazing how Wisconsin misses half a dozen free throws against Sparty at the end of the game but they make a miracle half court shot against us.

Ha. Wisconsin just got hit with a buzzer beater to end the half. I know it's not much, but any buzzer beater against Wisconsin is somewhat comforting.

This style of basketball is just so bad to watch. There is something to be said for good defense but this is just total lack of ball skills too. Wisconsin didn't even get to 20 points. I can't wait until Bo Ryan retires. Fucking ugly basketball.

LOL.  When teams play against us they make blind, heavily contested half court shots with regularity.  When they play ANYONE else they can't hit anything no matter how open they are.

Wisconsin has missed like 15 straight three's and none of them has been close.   Against us? Everything that went up went in.  I wish I knew what it is about our uni's that lights everyone up and makes them shoot lights out but they all do.  They ALL do.

This game is over.

I can't watch Wisconsin.  Taking ugly jump shots, 4 straight offensive rebounds leading to no points, missing all their 3's, missing layups.  None of these things were problems for them when they faced us.  I just feel like punching something.
