It's like being the special needs kid that is cruelly nominated for Homecoming King. I'm sure Cook is excited, not realizing, or denying, the amount of ridicule he's about to endure.

I think they should just go with terry.. At least teams won't have any film on him and he can make plays with his legs.. They can't just keep counting on there D to score 21 pts a game

He would be like a Russell Wilson type.  Not going to be Vince Young or Devin out there, but has scoots to get out of the pocket and extend plays or if an opening he can go get 5-10 yards on a scramble.  He did put up some sick numbers at a pretty high level in PA.  He is not going to run for 70 yards in a sprint but he will extend plays and annoy you by evading sacks.  In 2 years I will worry about him, for now he is a freshman who has been on campus for 7 weeks and due to the fact everyone ahead of him is a joke he might be forced to play although Dantonio obviously has been hoping anyone else would seize the job this year.

O'Connor cannot seem to memorize the playbook.  From Dantonio's hints he screws up calling plays in practice then he went out in last week's games and despite being the only guy on the team who drove the team, screwed up a play call in the red zone and then got the hook.  He is probably the most "able" QB of the 3 not named Terry but apparently has mind melts.

If you go with Terry you have 3 lame ducks on the roster.  Maxwell is done after this year and will probably be cool, but you have 2 transfers lurking.

Maxwell has ok accuracy but doesn't generate any kind of plays throwing or running.  He'll have a decent completion percentage and an awful yards/attempt.

Cook has bad accuracy but can give you a little with his legs.

You could probably win some games with any of these guys if you had something else on offense.  But, the line is pittiful and the receivers are very disappointing.

Don't get me wrong.  I don't feel sorry for him.  I'm reveling in it.

I don't think it matters who they start. Their Oline is below average. Their receivers can't catch anything and they don't have a running game. And worst of all, they have the worst set of plays I have ever seen run in a big ten football game.

But I feel zero sympathy for Sparty.
