BTN is reporting that Dantonio said in his press conference that Connor Cook will start and freshman Damion Terry is receiving second-team reps.
at least it's not just us?
This will undoubtedly unleash the kraken on MSU opposing defenses.
thanks for the good laugh
Thanks. Yet, it can't get worse can it? Can it?
So, look for Maxwell by the third quarter.
anyone from the bball team. They love their bball team over there.
He is a big boy and at his largest he certainly showed that he could stay low in the paint.
Kork Coupons aint walkin' through that door.
And not one fuck was given.
Lol. Great post!
It's like being the special needs kid that is cruelly nominated for Homecoming King. I'm sure Cook is excited, not realizing, or denying, the amount of ridicule he's about to endure.
Mocking kids with special needs always brings instant street cred. Sorry you're not over missing out on homecoming court.
You sound like an overly sensitive guy.
He wasn't mocking anyone. Relax.
You're right. I didn't mean to mock anyone, other than the MSU offense. And maybe kids who are mean. If someone feels offended by what I said, I apologize.
You handled that well. Seriously. Most guys would snark back and start a chain of eye poking.
be a tight end.
What a gong show that offense is
Ridiculous. Gong shows have ends. Merciful, sweet endings. The MSU offense goes on for eternity, stuck in a 0-0 punt off with Iowa.
Honestly, I think Maxwell is their best option and his numbers wouldn't be
bad terrible if the Sparty receivers were not abominable.
Not only are the receivers bad, but Bollman seems to be running the patented Greg Davis Four Horizontals passing offense.
They are saving the fabled "four back" (a/k/a the four lateral) offense special for ND, undoubtedly. If your QB can't complete anything over the line of scrimmage, why have anybody run patterns there?
I usually abstain from "+1" or "^this, lol!" type posts, but as someone who endured Greg Davis's waning years at UT, describing his offense as "Four Horizontals" was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time.
does it matter??
Most rational thinking MSU fans don't want Dantonio to burn Terry's redshirt. Oh well, looks like he'll be playing next week.
I predict it will be
Where does Terry fall in the "Quarterback Dilithium Level (Scale: 1 [Navarre] to 10 [Denard])?"
He was listed as a pro-style QB, so probably closer to Navarre.
Unknown to me. He has no 40 time on any of the recruiting sites, and rivals lists his as pro-style. So he probably isn't Denarding anyone. Maybe good scramble skills?
Here are Terry's high school highlights:
He's a decent athlete overall, but he's definitely not a dual threat guy.
Granted it was on a trick play, but that's one more than the original sub-5 40 guys Grbac and Todd Collins.
He would be like a Russell Wilson type. Not going to be Vince Young or Devin out there, but has scoots to get out of the pocket and extend plays or if an opening he can go get 5-10 yards on a scramble. He did put up some sick numbers at a pretty high level in PA. He is not going to run for 70 yards in a sprint but he will extend plays and annoy you by evading sacks. In 2 years I will worry about him, for now he is a freshman who has been on campus for 7 weeks and due to the fact everyone ahead of him is a joke he might be forced to play although Dantonio obviously has been hoping anyone else would seize the job this year.
You know the old saying. If you have four QBs, you have none.
used to swear by that 'un.
I thought it was "Don't masturbate when your cousins are visiting".
Ridiculous... If your cousins are visiting, why would you need to?
O'Connor should start; kid is dual threat with a nice arm and excellent strength as a runner.
He looked just as awful. When he played.
O'Connor cannot seem to memorize the playbook. From Dantonio's hints he screws up calling plays in practice then he went out in last week's games and despite being the only guy on the team who drove the team, screwed up a play call in the red zone and then got the hook. He is probably the most "able" QB of the 3 not named Terry but apparently has mind melts.
If you go with Terry you have 3 lame ducks on the roster. Maxwell is done after this year and will probably be cool, but you have 2 transfers lurking.
Maxwell has ok accuracy but doesn't generate any kind of plays throwing or running. He'll have a decent completion percentage and an awful yards/attempt.
Cook has bad accuracy but can give you a little with his legs.
You could probably win some games with any of these guys if you had something else on offense. But, the line is pittiful and the receivers are very disappointing.
Don't get me wrong. I don't feel sorry for him. I'm reveling in it.
some receivers and some backs. . . they'll be all set.
A couple tight ends...
And a good offensive coordinator.
I don't think it matters who they start. Their Oline is below average. Their receivers can't catch anything and they don't have a running game. And worst of all, they have the worst set of plays I have ever seen run in a big ten football game.
But I feel zero sympathy for Sparty.
...but besides that, they look good.
I think Langford has the potential to be decent. He's not Leveon Bell though which means their passing game is going to be even worse this year.
My brothers in law are both Spartan grads and have loved giving me crap over Denard's passing issues over the last three years.
Ahhhhhhh, Kharman is a bitch.
