This is no surprise at all. It's a significant game, worthy of a good time slot, and it's not going to be at night. This is an easy no-brainier. Almost certainly on ABC, too. If that's decided after the weekend, I would guess that both teams losing could thwart that.

noon kicks, but I am a parent of two.  Legitimately watching a noon game live is a next to impossible task for parents of little kids.  Saturday morning/early afternoon sets the tone for the weekend and if I am in front of the TV during that time things go south in a hurry.  With the 3:30 kick, I can do a good fatherly thing before the game, feel good about how responsible and frankly awesome I am and then sit down with a few beers at a semi-reasonable time to start drinking.  Works out so much better.

I am not surprised it's at 3:30, but it will be an ABC game. No way does ESPN let this one get away.

I'm happy. Making the trip and while I like noon games for tv, I prefer the time to tailgate a 3:30 start provides. Plus I'm getting to AA Friday night and I won't be as hung over Saturday with the extra sleepy time.

I am pretty sure that my wife will want me to go to this party that happens to be on that day and around that time, so now I have to make this cough and cold last another two weeks or so. I think I can sell it, or at least, it has worked in the past. Still, this is one I would have assumed to be a 3:30 PM start just by the way the slate was beginning to shape up.

My friend has the audacity to get married this day and right at 4 pm too which means I wouldn't be able to watch all of the game no matter what time slot it was. Might try to leave my phone off and just watch it in my hotel room that night

Even if both teams win this week? That's unfortunate. I'll be there and it'll be my first live Michigan game. Was just getting my signs prepared.

not that uncommon.  They do it for SEC games that are on CBS, actually.  Fowler is not even on Gameday anymore so they just ship Herbstreet off to where ever he is calling the game after the Gameday telecast.  Also, the "primetime" crew will occassionally call a 3:30 game if there is nothing too great at night.  Musberger and Herby called the Michigan State v. OSU 3:30 game two years ago and they called The Game 06 which was a 3:30 start as well.

I could see Gameday coming, but they don't want to do a repeat at the same campus.  So, say hypothetically Michigan does not lose until the OSU game and OSU is undefeated it will likely be a Top 5 matchup.  They would want to be there but if they come for this game that will be a problem.  I think they will likely go to A&M for the Bama game or to South Bend for the SC game, that would be my guess.

Same could be said for Bama/LSU later on in the year. They'll take this game if both teams win. They've been to 2 Bama games already. Wherever the marquee matchup is they'll be there

Very happy about this. We have people coming in from out of town so this will allow us plenty of extra time to tailgate. Also allows an extra meal instead of just making breakfast burritos.

The 3:30 slot optimizes the home field advantage somewhat because more students will show up on time. It won't be as loud and intimidating as a night game, but it'll start to get dark by the 4th quarter.

I can't wait to be there. Fraternizing with the enemy in East Lansing Friday night, then entering the Big House for the first time in my life on Saturday. Go Blue.

I have to think Gameday has been itching to get to Ann Arbor since Harbaugh was hired. I would like to think they will come if both UM and MSU win next Saturday. Can't think they'll want to do Columbus for the night game if Penn State still looks like a tire fire. (Plus it's easy for Herbstreit to get from Ann Arbor to Columbus for the night game.) The big competition would be from Baton Rouge for Florida - LSU, which is the 7 pm game on ESPN. (Have they been to Baton Rouge yet this season?)
