Michigan Stadium tours / accessibility

Submitted by A Case of Blue on

So I'm going to be in Ann Arbor in the next couple of weeks, and my dad and I were hoping to be able to see the stadium, especially the renovations, since we haven't been there in a couple of years.

Is there some kind of tour we can take of the stadium, or is it generally open to the public for wandering around?  Barring either of those options, do they show it to you on a campus tour (because we're totally willing to sell out the 16-year-old traveling with us in order to get in)?

Much appreciated.

I know prior to the rennovations the stadium was open to the public, as I've been there a few times just to walk around.  At the moment, though, I really don't know.  I'm sure you could call someone and find out, which I may do, considering I should see it before I move.

I found some information here: http://www.umich.edu/~info/visitingAA.html#anchor_stadium , but I don't know if it is updated.

Since it's an active construction site, the Stadium is currently not open to the public.  Before the project began, it was open Mondays through Thursdays during the day.

I for one miss the ability to run the steps, it's still the best cardio workout I've ever found.

if you have legitimate interest in purchasing club seating, westside chairback seating, or even a suite, you can get a tour.  I had a tour given by Ted Ledbetter if you want to try to give him a call.
