It is going to be insufferable this Fall. The excitement and direction are so palpable. We miss Meechigan Football and we're gonna get it. Easter!

did a lot of kids get autographs? that was always the best thing about the spring game was seeing all the kids meeting the players. back on the day (early 2000) you got to go down on the field after the game.

I would have had a similar guess - 60,00ish.

It looked about as full as you would expect it to be about 30 minutes or so before a real game with people still filtering in even after the Spring Game began. I sat in the south end zone, where it was a little more sparse but between the 20s it was pretty full on both sides of the field, at least for the first 60-70 rows or so.

It was quiet, but there wasn't much to cheer for. You tend to applaud great offensive plays in a setting like that, and those were infrequent. It was apparent fairly quickly that the QBs and WRs just weren't a match for the D. Besides big hits and picks, which did garner cheers, stuffing a 1 yard gain isn't a big cheering point when it's your team against your team. Also surprised to step away from this blog and back into the real world, how "normal" folks know the team. Peppers made a tackle early and the crowd cheered, but when Marshall made the sack I was alone in my excitement - few seemed to know who he was.

Before and after the game it was Motown, Bob Seger, all kinds of Michigan related classics. During the game, no canned crap, only the band. Thank you to whomever is responsible for bringing a little class back to The Big House

My family came up from Indy for the game and it was a blast!! My guess on attendance was 75,000. My favorite play of the day was When Peppers planted Shallman in the backfield with a resounding thud. He also stepped in front of a quick slant and very nearly got a pick. Henry, Mone and Hurst we're also standouts that couldn't be denied. Can't remember if it was Bolden or not but an inside linebacker had an amazing INT over the middle. Morgan and Bolden will be really good. Marshall had a sack that was monstrous as well. The QB's didn't look very good to me and the WR's weren't helping either. Malzone was just ripping the ball with no touch and gave up on plays when he had open guys to throw to. Morris threw really nice deep balls and looked way more in command. If Dennis Norfleet is a corner, we're fucked. We could really use him on offense because he can actually catch. Jake Butt is our best offensive weapon. Isaac was limping around and only got a couple carries. I was hoping he would be impressive, but we'll have to wait to find out. Nobody on the offensive line dominated, so either our defensive line is amazing or we will continue to struggle at the LOS this year. Hopefully more of the former. Go Blue!

Former Season …

I watched most of it on the Big Ten Network here in Alabama.  I think overall the team looked solid especially on defense. One thing missing though is a quality running back that can bust tackles and gain postive yardage. (Denard Robinsion)  Perhaps Harbaugh can develop one over time but some players have a natural ability for that and am not sure there is one on board now.  Anyway. Go Blue.

I really like them playing an actual game for the Spring Game.  Not just for the entertainment value of it, which was actually better than I thought it would be, but for the team's developmental value as well.

You can see how things go south in the "fog of war" in front of a crowd in a live-game situation, things that are nice and clean and simple in the bubble of Glick fieldhouse.  That was probably a 21-14 game if it was just a Glick scrimmage.

It's valuable to get the team some live game experience, and see how they react when things break down.
