Michigan-Rutgers highlights (WH style)

A historic ass-whoopin'. About 22 minutes long.

Michigan's most points since an 85-0 win over Chicago in 1939.

WH = Wolverine Historian. A YouTube account which posted highlights of Michigan wins. They were very consistent in format, and, best of all, actually showed the game's highlights over 10+ minutes. I hate the 3 minute videos which show 2 scores, a Tackle, and the celebration. Wolverine Historian is a hero for his work. And Wolverine Devotee is a slightly more annoying hero for continuing it.

difference in team speed was astonishing. People have been saying that Harbaugh "ran it up." Not really, I mean, were our running backs supposed to tackle themselves? We stopped threatening to throw the ball after about 6 minutes left in the 3rd.

I don't know where people are getting that he ran up the score, and it is for that reason - we were able to run 72 offensive snaps against a team that got barely 50 plays (across a lot of possessions, considering how fast we were scoring) in, and as you said, they spent quite a bit of that time not being tackled by a team that apparently is just learning the art....maybe.

I count 3 total pass attempts in the second half: 1) O'Korn short completion to Hill 2) O'Korn TD to Hill 3) Morris incomplete, which Rutgers fans are still whining about That's it. 3 passes. 3rd and 4th string guys. Harbaugh did everything to call off the dogs short of taking knees on every down.

I know you say you usually include opposition highlights too to get a well rounded reel....so what Rutgers highlight did you include? The first downs and a kick return?

Those announcers were insufferable. They had no more than three talking points the entire game, and it was making my ears bleed. How many different ways can you talk about Michigan recruiting in NJ?

Yes, I've found the one thing to complain about from this game. It's the Michigan Difference.

To paraphrase: "Michigan LOST in Piscataway 2 years ago. Were you aware that Michigan LOST in Piscataway 2 years ago? Well, sure, Michigan was a different team with a different coaching staff, and Rutgers was a different team with a different coaching staff, but I'm telling you, Michigan LOST in Piscataway 2 years ago."

really don't know what else they had. They essentially had to small talk their way through 4 hours of dead air. It is not like Michigan and Rutgers have a rich football rilvary to tap into. I mean, it was clearly the D or E team, but they had an unenviable task.

When I rewatched the game this morning I tried focusing on the young guys on D. Anyone notice Josh Metellus (13) just trying to hit stick anyone that came near him? It was pretty awesome. Him and Khaleke Hudson are hard hitting safeties and they're always fired up.

Yeah he was really flying around. Ended up leading the team in solo tackles for the game I think. I noticed in one of the earlier blow out games this year he also was super fired up after making a tackle. These kids are loving the opportunity to play as true freshmen. Used to be a huge rarity for UM teams!
