Michigan Recruiting Map 2/20
I updated the recruiting Map with the latest information....I'll probably be doing this once a week. Especially since things have been moving so quickly.
I added a 50 mile buffer around all the universities in the BCS conferences....this gives a nice picture of whose backyard we are dipping in. I am still playing around with the formatting and symbology. If you have any questions a/o comments please let me know.

FWIW, you've still got Colorado and an extra Big 12 colored dot near Nebraska in the Big 12 and Utah isn't on the map for the PAC-12. Totally not trying to be a tool.

But while Nebraska is updated as Big 10, you don't have TCU in the Big East or Boise St in whatever conference they're joining (I forgot which). I think that's all, I don't remember what all the moves are going to be

TCU is in the Mountain West for one more year and Boise is joining the MW. He only included the auto-bid conferences.

Umm Pike isn't from southern KY hes from Edgewood, Ky which is Cincinnati for all purposes. Sweet map tho

Great map, Only quibble I have is that you missed Utah and Washington St. in the PAC-12 among your BCS universities.
It's a great map and the amount of work you put in was impressive.

Question: you've got Ifeadi Odenigbo plotted in Portsmouth-ish (where US-23 hits the Ohio River). I had him in Centerville, near Dayton. I just wanted to make sure my data is accurate.

Thanks a ton man, the map is really interesting. I didn't know we've offered 37 offensive players and 29 defensive. I thought we were recruiting very defensive heavy.

Things I'm observing due to your efforts:
1. It's interesting how secluded Penn State is from other major football programs. With the talent PA and Eastern Ohio has to offer it's amazing how much PSU has underperformed since joining the B10.
2. Interesting how close Michigan and MSU are geographically. There are only a couple other B10 schools that overlap in the 50 mile radius. Obviously this puts both these teams at a recruiting disadvantage.
3. Huge cluster of ACC schools right on top of eachother in NC/VA.

I'm trying to come up with an algorithm to predict where recruits will ultimately sign. Distance is defintely one of the very important variables. I'm working on weighting, so it may or may not be the most important.
When I get something diary-worth I'll post it.
