to me that with the amount of comments for this thread, that you, Mr Dawson, matter to us and would be a very welcome addition to the class.

I wasn't crazy about how things went down with his de-commit, however, I tried to avoid commenting and am glad I did.

...and just my uneducated opinion,  I really think that we will get treadwell in the end.  Ty Isaac made his choice, and we seem to be in a really great position with Derrick Green right now.  I think that we could get McQuay too.  I think we realistcly could end up with two of the three( Treadwell, Green, McQuay).  We even could take them all.  But realistically i think we'll end up with two.

If he was really serious about wanting to be "back in the UM family" he would have re-committed. He's still taking visits to Alabama, OSU, and MSU, and unless he's given a silent re-verbal to Hoke, I think this is smoke with no fire. On top of that, if Hunt or Lacey commit before that, there won't be room for Dawson unless there's attrition elsewhere.

I think the biggest competition is Sparty. He said Florida was out because of distance from his family, so I'd have to say Alabama wouldn't be a serious destination due to the same issue. I think he's a kid that's been through A LOT in a short period of time, and it has taken its toll on him. I think he and his family want to be back in the UM family, it just took a route none of us expected.

One thing I just thought of is that supposedly Hoke basically said "If you want to be at UM we have room for you."  However, Dawson didn't re-commit.  So, although we have room for him right now, what if any number of other guys commits and accepts their offer.  Do you still have room for him then?  After re-thinking this it kinda surprises me that he didn't re-commit if he wants to be here because the offer may not last long.

I would have to surmise we are in the driver's seat. If he doesn't commit by the 14th of december, though, there will not be a spot for him because I can see either lacy or hunt commiting on that day when they visit.
