Michigan Over/Under 9.5 regular season wins

Submitted by jamiemac on

Wow. Two forum posts in one day.

Its come to my attention that over the weekend 5Dimes has indeed released a regular season win total prop for Michigan. This includes just regular season games. Any hypothetical Big 10 CG and bowl game do not count.

Michigan O/U 9.5 wins

Over pays out +140 (bet $100, wint $140)

Under costs -180 to play (bet 180 to win 100)

Michigan has to go 10-2. Thats seem ambitious. Especially since its basically 10-1 after the opener. Sadly, I like the Under, but hope I am wrong.

Others of note: ND, O/U 8.5, Under is -230; Wisco, O/U 8.5, Over is -260; Ohio, O/U 8,5, Over is -230; and MSU O/U 8.5....Spartans have standard juice on both sides.

All 8.5, except MICH who is 9.5

plus denard's playing style putting him on the bench in some key situations next year as well as thin OL depth - one injury to Lewan puts us in really bad shape and leaves us helpless v gholston -  are what make my head say under even with the weak payout.

 Over.

I think i picked us losing to Nebraska and Iowa last year. Honestly I think we finish with the same record as last year. There is only one world beater on the schedule and we get that out of the way in week 1.

There are 6 tough games and 6 game we should win easily if we play to our ability. I think we finish at .500 or better against ND, Bama, MSU, Nebraska, Iowa and Ohio. Thats 9 wins atleast right there.

I can't pick a ND team who went 1-2 against 3 of the worst teams in Michigan football history. Michigan finds a way to win while ND always finds a way to lose.

My heart says Michigan but, my brain says Bama wins.

We get MSU at home and it's time. The only MSU wins this game is if the entire team gets the flu. the players have to want this win crazy bad.

Nebraska got destroyed in A2 last year and their only form of defensive containment ( Lavonte David) graduated. Yea the games in Lincoln, let's ask NW how tough of a place that is to play.

We get Iowa in the big house

Ohio is tricky because this will be their NCG. If Urban gets his guys ready to play this year  this will be a tough game in the shoe.

I'd say bookend losses with an enjoyable middle of the season. 11-2 big ten champions in the rose bowl vs. USC

The part of me that deals with statistics all day would like to take the "under" on Michigan, but then the part of me that also likes to get paid for meddling with the numbers likes that +140 much better.

Where do they get four losses?  This schedule looks a little like our 2011 schedule.  Four games at home to start.  A tough road game in East Lansing that they might lose.  Nebraska at home.  THE [Rivalry] GAME at home.  (Already being routinely discussed as their "bowl game" for 2012.)

They must go to Camp Randall, yes, and they must also visit Happy Valley, whatever that might mean these days.

I see OSU going 10-2 pretty easily, and I see them at 10-2 even with a loss to Michigan.  It all depends on who lasts longer in a 12-game regular season; Denard Robinson or Braxton Miller.

Sadly I agree. Good chance we have a worse record but a better team than last year. If I were a gambling man. I'd take the under. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope its the over and we win the big 10. But ill take not getting blown out to Bama, beating MSU, beating OSU on the road..if we beat OSU at home the first year of Urban Liar i think the crazy fans in columbus would set the city on fire and we would hear the excuse that he doesnt have "his guys" in place yet.

I say we are winning 9, so under. It will be a tough season and our success depends on if DRrob can play the way he did against Nebraska and OSU all year next year.
