Michigan 20-6...as close as 20-13. Either way that's more than the 3.5.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:33 PM ^
As atrocious as their Offense is, their D is very good.I think folks here are being a bit too confident- hope y'all are right.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:41 PM ^
They're basically Northwestern with better athletes on defense. Quick DL that gets off blocks.
December 6th, 2015 at 8:29 PM ^
Florida's defense and Northwestern's defenses should never be compared. Florida is elite on that side of the ball.
December 6th, 2015 at 8:39 PM ^
If I had to make a comparison with a team we played that has a good defense and a not great, Bob offense....Northwestern is it.
December 6th, 2015 at 10:19 PM ^
Yeah, I guess it's the best possible comparison. But I still don't think it's a great comparison in the grand scheme of things. Bad offense, good defense is about as far as it goes.
December 6th, 2015 at 10:24 PM ^
So Ohio State but better? We didn't fare well against good defenses with elite athletes.
December 6th, 2015 at 11:09 PM ^
If we get 13 against Florida, we'll win.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:42 PM ^
I can easily see this being M00N pt 2 especially if Rudock is not 100%
December 6th, 2015 at 11:09 PM ^
FLOOM.
December 7th, 2015 at 9:46 AM ^
Yeah this game has defensive stalemate written all over it to me.
December 6th, 2015 at 8:04 PM ^
We had better be ready to stop the running game and stack the box. The defense should be licking their chops.
December 7th, 2015 at 1:25 PM ^
it will be interesting to see the previews our Dear Leader and the gang put together, especially their look at how Mr. Doug Nussmeier has done down there in Gainesville as compared with up here last season
December 6th, 2015 at 10:25 PM ^
It's a very good defense, but it's trending downward a bit recently and hasn't played a murderer's row of offenses either (by FEI)
- UT - 22
- Ole Miss - 10
- LSU - 17
- FSU - 27
- Alabama - 29
By comparison, UM played 4 top 50 offenses:
- BYU - 35
- Indiana - 25
- MSU - 23
- OSU - 26
And the OSU team UM saw was a tad bit better on offense than LSU is right now.
I think it'll be a slog, but this is still a team that can be gameplanned around well enough; it isn't one of those dominating defenses that just shuts down a part of your team.
December 7th, 2015 at 11:07 AM ^
Is the best in the country, but they have nothing on Offense. If UM just stops the run this game is in the bag for UM. One thing to worry about tho is that this game won't have Big10 Refs, so Lewis will most likely get called for pass interference 3-4 times since that is what he does,on every play. I'm not joking.
December 6th, 2015 at 8:25 PM ^
I was very impressed with Florida's defense against Alabama. Their offense is pathetic, though. They're one of the worst running teams in the nation, so this is probably the best possible matchup for our weak run defense.
December 6th, 2015 at 8:28 PM ^
I wouldn't be surprised if their offense looked better in the bowl though. Bowls are often high-scoring. You have a month to get healthy and prepare, so I guess it makes sense.
December 6th, 2015 at 9:05 PM ^
We'll see a different UF offense on Jan. 1. A month of uninterrupted practice can do wonders. Penn State was abysmal offensively late last year, then put up 31 points on a good BC defense in the bowl game.

In that last six weeks they have had more practice than they'll have from now until the bowl game. You might want to look over their last five games. Someone had a summary here, btw. I wouldn't expect 15 practices to turn on too many lights.

I dont get the notion our run defense is weak. Two read option teams killed us. Nobody else did. We stopped some good backs this year until we faced teams that ran zone read with a mobile QB that could run and throw.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:25 PM ^
But I would take under if it's set at 42.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:34 PM ^
I'd take under 37

Florida offense the last 5 games-
- 9 points vs Vanderbilt
- 24 vs 3-9 South Carolina
- 14 in regulation and 20 including OT against 3-9 FAU from C-USA
- 0 vs FSU at home
- 7 vs Alabama on desperation heave
December 6th, 2015 at 7:30 PM ^
+7 all day. NW always seems to play well in bowls.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:45 PM ^
Not sure about that - Pat Fitzgerald is 1-4 in bowl games.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:49 PM ^
He said they played well, not that they won. You can lose and still cover 7+ point spreads.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:45 PM ^
I thought that looked like a good bet too. Tennessee hasn't played a real team in months.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:33 PM ^
Wow, 9.5 favorites? Talk about just giving Dantonio more and more ammunition to work with.
The DISRESPEKT train has left the station.

Yeah, did anyone else see Derrick Henry say he was excited to play Michigan in the playoff on ESPN? That's gold for Mike Dantoni
December 6th, 2015 at 7:38 PM ^
I was listening to ESPN radio when they made the announcement and they told the audience it was Michigan vs Alabama.

Intergalactic in deep space now for awhile, and I don't think it's coming back.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:56 PM ^
No matter what they say, I think the Committee swapped Oklahoma and Michigan State between #3 and #4 to avoid a semi-final matchup between what they think are the two best teams in Alabama and Oklahoma. The betting community thinks Alabama and Oklahoma are the two top teams.
December 6th, 2015 at 8:08 PM ^
I think that Oklahoma and Alabama are the best 2 teams in the country, but if you look at the resume, MSU has 1 more win, 4 wins vs the top 25 (3 by Oklahoma) and their losses are to 5-7 teams. The committee seems to weigh the resume more than the eye test.
December 7th, 2015 at 8:56 AM ^
in the midst of a 3-3 Oregon start, including a 62-20 home pasting by Utah. If the Committee weighed that game carefully, they wouldn't treat Oregon as a Top 25 win.
December 6th, 2015 at 9:53 PM ^
They might also have been trying to avoid having a team that's not one of the top two seeds playing so close to home. It's only about a 3 hour drive from Norman to Dallas, and Alabama fans would be right to complain about a lower seed getting to play so close to home.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:35 PM ^
Looks like a great opportunity to grab 10 wins and momentum heading into next season.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:42 PM ^
So the so called "best" team in the Big Ten is the biggest underdog.
