Michigan-Ohio State: The Rivalry (HBO) back ONDEMAND

Submitted by orobs on

I've been waiting for this thing to come back all fricking summer.  One of the best docu's I've ever seen on TV, and blows any 30 for 30 (including the fab 5) out of the water, IMO.  Highly recommend anyone with HBO watch this if they haven't already.  Definitely gonna be my way to get pumped for tomorrow.

Great post for me. I've been hearing awesome things about it and couldn't wait to actually see it so I'm about to watch it as I type this. Thanks for letting us know its out there.

Did they revise it after realizing they should have at least asked to interview Lloyd Carr?  No?

Aside from the "room just got dusty" footage of what turned out to be Bo's last visit to Michigan Stadium, I think I can go without seeing this thing again.  It's impossible to do something like this without coming off slanted one way or the other, but they just did a spectacularly bad job of weighing it down with entirely too much OSU stuff for it to even approach some modicum of balance.

I mean, how can you do a special about Michigan and OSU, interview Jim Tressel, and not even approach Lloyd Carr, who was ultimately involved in -three times- the number of Michigan-OSU games (twice more as head coach) than Tressel had at that point?

I may have completely missed it, but I just watched it and didn't see Tressel interviewed (although snippets of him speaking were shown).  The only pro-OSU moment came when showing the highlights of 2006 game...but the documentary was made in the setting of that game, so you can't really question why that had so much OSU stuff.
