Michigan offers Willie Henry
Im fine with another DT. The more depth at that position the better. Assuming, of course, he chooses Michigan. Im hoping by tonight Grant and Reeves commit. Ive been buckled up for a while now.

I Bleed Red, Black, Maize and Blue...
Versatile player with something to prove...a sleeper to keep an eye on, I'll take it.
And it keeps the Glenville crack in the pipeline open.
I think Frank Clark's success was huge, hopefully we can get some footing in that community and one day grab some of its top talent.
As for Henry, we're waaaaaiting! Would love to see you in MAIZE AND BLUE pissed off because OSU didn't recruit you like you likely wanted them to.
Give me a motivated 3* over a lackadaisical 4* any day.
When I talked to DeNiro Laster (2013 recruit from Cleveland) he talked about how much Frank Clark made people in the Cleveland area proud. I definitely think that the success Hoke is having in the Cleveland area recruiting wise is huge for the future.
And to think, it all started with selling jerseys.
Well, he must be a real diamond in the rough because he doesn't have any other impressive offers. Here's hoping our guys spotted something everyone else missed. If they like him, I'll take their word for it. I don't know why they'd pick somebody just as filler.
Magnus mentioned in the other thread that Henry's technique is raw. I think that is to be expected from a lot of high school players. His film looks good, despite being raw. The kid is very aggressive and can really run.
Technique is something that Hoke can fix.

Buckled up! As Scout said, today could be "Commitmas" with possibilities of Reeves, Grant, Kozan, and Henry deciding today.
Team 132
I have been buckled up since Friday....This will be a successful Sunday!
This kid will red shirt, hit the weights/food, get coached up by 3 excellent DL coaches, and will be a stud in a couple of years. I like kids who might be flawed technique wise, but have a great motor. This kid looks relentless on film, and like I mentioned, being coached up Hoke and company will fix his technique.
THOSE WHO STAY WILL BE CHAMPIONS
but then again, we all thought Frank Clark would be redshirting...
If Henry doesn't redshirt, then we really, really needed the extra body for depth. It would mean some combination od Pipkins, Ash, BWC and Washington are all injured/ineffective. Or, I suppose, that Henry has exceeded every expectations and turned into an instant stud. I think we can count on time for young Willie Henry to season, and, if not, just be thankful someone (anyone) is there.

It also would mean that Henry would have passed guys like Rock and WIlkins as well.

Yeah I cant wait to see what Clark can do with another offseason of hittin the weights hard...he's gonna be a beast!
Clark is a monster, from what I hear. The guy is easily one of the fastest guys on the team and he has so much sheer athleticism (interception, anybody?). If Thomas hadn't immediately gone to tackle Clark, that would have been a pick-six there. He also has the frame to put on another 20 pounds of good weight, so he will probably be a demon for years to come. If Henry is anywhere near as athletic (the highlight film shows he's damn fast for his size and never gives up on a play), then we could have us a future star.
He's going to have to hit the weights if he wants to be an every down player.
Otherwise he's a pass rushing specialist (and a damn good one)...personally, I'm not sure he'll ever be a full time starter, but he'll certainly have a BIG role on defense. That role? *Sam Jackson voice* "GET THE MOTHA#*^@* QUARTERBACK!!!" I think Mario Ojemudia follows in Clark's footsteps and that becomes it's own position.
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabeer_Gbaja-Biamila comes to mind. He was unblockable for quite a few years.
I'm unofficially naming this position of Clark and Ojemudia (and maybe Beyer)..."GATA" or "GATAbacker" - Get After That Ass!
Still don't get saying no to Schutt and DOB so that we could take a three-star last-minute offeree. He could be very good, I'm not slamming the kid, but he doesn't have anything approaching the resume of the other two.
Denard has spent the offseason working really hard and smiling at people.
I think it's important to note that these two things are not mutually exclusive:
1. The coaches just plain missed on a couple of their targets and have more room left in the class than they anticipated. They gambled and lost by not taking some highly ranked guys who were available this fall (or maybe Pipkins really put the kibosh on any other blue chip interior line recruiting).
2. Willie Henry's film looks promising and may turn out to be a good player for us.
"There was a time I could have been mistaken for Burt Reynolds. I had a moustache and so did he. But he was the number one star in the world, so there wasn't really much confusion."
I know that you were theorizing with that Pipkens remark. If it were true I personally wouldn't want him even if he seems like a great, personable, talented, funny guy. We all have to look out for ourselves but at the same time Hoke has to do whatever is in the best interests of the team.
I am glad that Pee Wee is part of the team but I hope that that wasn't the case and the coaches just didn't want to take either player.
Here's hoping for a bright future. This team does try hard and I will continue to support them.
When Garnett picked Stanford over Michigan, an extra scholarship opened up. The coaches obviously think Henry is the best player available at this point.
When Schutt and O'Brien were available the coaches must have had different priorities. (Pipkins)
I put up a tough front, but deep down I just want to be held.
Schutt and O'Brien are NG prospects like Pipkins...Henry is more in the mold of Will Heininger position wise.
I don't know why you get negged for this. This is true and has been known for the longest time, but people can't seem to get it through their heads.
During O'Brien's recrutiing he was telling reporters that the coaches are looking to take only one NT is this class. And guess what happened. Pipkins committed and the coaches turned down Schutt and DOB picked Tenn.

O'Brien looks like a NT all the way, but I think Schutt could play the 3-tech. I would prefer him as a NT, but he's better than nothing at 3-tech.
I agree, I like his quickness at the 3-tech to split the double teams...but size to take them on if needed.
However, Pipkins doesn't seem to think too highly of him so whatever. I would've liked to have him so Ohio didn't as well. I'm not saying that's why you take him, but it certainly doesn't hurt.
I didn't get negged for that...I got negged because OMG Shirtless has a man crush on me and his way of showing it is to neg all of my posts. All of my posts in this thread (and I'm sure this one will get negged too unless it gets posbombed for good meausre) have been negged by him.
It's quite funny. Sometimes I just repost the same thing, he can't keep up. I'm too quick. I'm like a falcon.
committed to UCONN. What a waste of a great name...

I wasn't thrilled about this at first, but damn the kids got some good looking film! Also, you have to remember that Glennville plays one of the toughest schedules in the country, so you know he's not just beating up some chump Olinemen.
