Does he play both offense and defense in high school?
February 21st, 2011 at 5:09 PM ^
This kid has an amazing offer list.
February 21st, 2011 at 5:13 PM ^
helmet already has wings!!!
February 21st, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
I really hope Hoke dont bring back helmet stickers.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
Where are the grammar nazis??!! No disrespect, FMB. I'll always admire your dramatic entrance/exit out of Bolivia.
February 21st, 2011 at 10:40 PM ^
Ah! Just caught the sarcasm.
February 21st, 2011 at 5:26 PM ^
The would-be tackler's uniform is awful. White with baby blue wings is an awful combination and an insult to both UNC and Michigan.
Also: how many fakes on the 40?
February 21st, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
Seems like not too many fakes. The kid ran a 10.55 100 meter and a 6.36 60 meter running track. The 60 is faster than Denard's from last year, when he ran track (6.81).
February 21st, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
Is it possible that he ran that 60 outdoors, without the turn? 6.36 is a hell of a lot faster than Denard, who was the fastest 60m runner at Michigan last year, and ninth in the Big Ten.
I've never seen a 60 ran outdoors, but that's a crazy fast time.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:20 PM ^
The 60 indoor is also without the turn - just the straightaway. I've never heard of a 60 run outdoors.
If he's all that fast, he should be able to run faster than a 10.55 100m, and he still might. Either way, with all of the track times thrown out for this kid, I doubt the 4.37 or whatever is legit, but probably only one fake out of five.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:50 PM ^
The post below answered it; the crazy time was in the 55m, not the 60. Guess we had a weird track in high school, I wouldn't doubt college is different.
He's still wicked fast.
February 22nd, 2011 at 2:58 AM ^
is faster than Denard.
February 22nd, 2011 at 9:26 AM ^
60 to 55mm
budget cuts

Often, football players who run track will alter their diets to prepare for Spring Ball or get ready for Football Summer Conditioning & two-a-days, as a result of the increased body mass, they don't run as fast as they could/should. Case in point, my kid ran his fastest 100m/200m times early in the season because, unbeknowest to me, he had been convinced by the Football HC that he was getting 'too small' to play his position and no offers would come his way!! Never mind he was a 6'2", 205 lb MLB who was running 10.7/21.8 for the 100m/200m distances AND finished second at the Florida HS State meet to a kid who eventually won a 4x100m relay gold medal for his home country of Jamaica!!
Just saying......no sour grapes for his TRACK COACH!!
At any rate...let's land this kid!!

Holy cow. Zero fakes indeed.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:11 PM ^
So he's four hundredths of a second faster than Denard in the 60, which is significant in track at that distance.
February 22nd, 2011 at 5:00 AM ^
He's so fast he went back to the 80s and got helmet stickers.

Scott Schrader from 247 Sports just tweeted this:
"CB Ronald Darby from Potomac High in Oxon Hills, MD tells us Michigan and Vanderbilt offered today. He ran a 4.31 40 at the UA Combine."

TOO SMALL FOR SMASHMOUTH POWER FOOTBALL. HOKE NEEDS BIG BRUISING BACK TO RUN PRO STYLE OFFENSE.

Hello.
February 22nd, 2011 at 8:55 AM ^
Please change all references of Hope to Hoke.
Thank you.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:41 PM ^
A RB in this system does not need to be 6'1 295 pounds... look at Ronnie Hillman during Hoke's and Borges's tenure in SDSU... He was the Mountain West freshmen of the year. Also he is a speedster type at 5'10 175 lbs. If this guy can play (and by the look of his offer list, he does) then he will be a great RB in this system regardless of size.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
Jahvid Best and Ronnie Hillman sucked. Fire Hoke.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:56 PM ^
Huh??????

Dude...sarcasm.
February 22nd, 2011 at 12:04 AM ^
what about James White of wisconsin,he is not that big. But he sure did do us dirty. You don't have to be 6 foot tall and 210 pounds.
February 22nd, 2011 at 12:06 AM ^
guys are funny.
February 21st, 2011 at 9:30 PM ^
WE NEED BIG BACkS LIKE MIKE HART 6'6 300lbs

/s
February 21st, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
I don't know if anyone has ever heard this but Mike Hart was only a 3 STAR!!!!
February 21st, 2011 at 7:35 PM ^
Darby has been pretty public about his interest in Notre Dame.. he's going to be tough to pull from them. A very good player no doubt though. Don't want to see him in the spread against us.
February 21st, 2011 at 7:41 PM ^
That sucks a lot.
February 21st, 2011 at 8:02 PM ^
To Hell with Notre Dame!!!
February 21st, 2011 at 9:11 PM ^
why would a michigan fan neg me!!?
February 21st, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
Many people on here don't like when others don't conform to their idea of a proper board post. In someone's opinion your comment was probably an eye roller or something. When I see something I think is rude or disrespectful, I'll neg, but if it's just childish or whatever, I normally don't.
February 21st, 2011 at 10:41 PM ^
That and with the current "free negs" issue folks are just happy to neg random stuff that would not otherwise merit the neg.
February 21st, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
...is don't talk about negging.
February 21st, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
I read on another Michigan board that his father is a big Michigan fan, and that we have a legitimate shot at seeing Ronald playing for Michigan.
I hope this is all true because Ronald has game-breaking speed, and I'd love to see him play in the Big House.
February 22nd, 2011 at 12:09 AM ^
would like to see him leaving everybody in the dust. You can't teach speed. When is he suppose to visit?
February 21st, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
Also keep in mind there are ND fans on this site as well, pepper in a few tools, you get negged. Take it like a man though, no need to worry about it.
February 21st, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
Both of their helmets have wings! The tackler's is pretty disgusting though.
February 22nd, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
Flash Gordon
... if he commits that is.
We'll also have officially discovered Darbylium as the mystery element of speed @ Michigan
