I wonder what this means.
the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
Received a scholarship to the Unniversity of Michigan this weekend

I can't do those fancy twitter embeds.
Thanks homeslice

Reschke is a legacy to State. This is more likely to lead to a twitter of him burning his offer letter than another commit.
On another note.....with Fitz hurt, perhaps seriously and our roster loaded with RB's who are either too small or too big and slow on the RB depth chart, and Derrick Green giving no real tell as to what he's thinking....at what point does our coaching staff maybe chase another 4/5 star, possibly from a team losing a coach.
Is anyone really comfortable with our RB situation if Fitz can't go in the fall.
Shane Morris is pretty pumped about it, too. I love Shane's enthusiasm.
I'm confused by this offer. Why would we do this?
Reschke tweeted it himself and he also texted TomVH and confirmed it with him.
Those who stay will be champions!
Makes me wonder if the rumors about a certain player in Ohio are true. Reschke might be a tough pull though he has been a spartan commit for a while. I guess we will see how much pull Shane has with one of his best friends.
Mike McCray
McCray. And our old friend does not believe McCray is going anywhere from personal communications with him.
Hard to make sense of this offer outside of a likely McCray decommit. I certainly hope that's not the case. With the LB recruiting we've had in the last two cycles, I would have thought the coaches would look elsewhere to fill scholarships.
"... Just as Christian came up to the Cross, his burden loosed from off his shoulders, fell from off his back, and began to tumble down the hill, and so it continued to do till it came to the mouth of the sepulchre. There it fell in, and I saw it
wasnt McCray just on campus this weekend?

For what it' worth, and I know it may be little. Mike McCray was in the MDen on State Street, up by Ben and Jerry's and everything there right after the game. I asked him about coming to Michigan and he said he was excited to get up to Ann Arbor. Take it with a grain of salt, but I just thought I'd share.
Could mean some unexpected attrition, or literally nothing.
Perhaps he's been watching JMFR all year?

Where's the...[recruiting]...threat?
If the haters don't hate you then you're doing something wrong. - David Cone
McCray has reaffirmed his commitment; the rumors about him and OSU are not true. This could be Reschke reaching out to the staff or an issue one of the current linebackers on the team
In other news, I recently offered Scarlett Johansson the opportunity to date me. Probably gonna turn out the same way for me that offering Reschke will for UM. We'd have as much luck offering one of the Bullough family tree.
I think we've actually done that too.
No harm in trying I guess. Never know how a player will chose
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
Sam Webb says it doesn't have to do with McCray. I think the staff just wants Reschke because he is a great LB commiting to a program that is a sinking ship.

Great point, thought the same thing when I saw the offer. Hoke going after in-state talent committed to a struggling MSU seems like a very smart thing to do.
I need someone smarter than me to explain this offer.
really easy shots to be had here... but im above all that
How can you kill that which has no life
You're dumb.

I know. That is why I am asking someone smarter than I to explain the offer. I don't undertand why we would do this.
I kidding haha. I don't know why either.

As a dumb guy, I'll take a shot.
First and foremost, there's very little cost to saying, "Hey, if you want to come, we'd love to have you." It's not like that takes a lot of time or resources.
As far as positive reasons to do it, maybe...
Bottom line: We have no idea why, but it's a low-cost move that could be justfied by a lot of different beliefs or scenarios.
"I am asking someone smarter than 'myself' not 'I'". When referring to the subject ("I") of a sentence, it becomes the reflexive ("myself") pronoun.
/sorry, old habits die hard.
His usage was correct. "Than" is a conjunction, separating two clauses or sentences. In this case, the sentence is assumed to be this: "I am asking someone smarter than I (am). "I" is the subject of the second clause. "Myself" is actually frequently overused by people who feel like they're making a mistake using "me" or "I. While it is often true that when you yourself are the object of the verb, it should be "myself," this is not always true. Sometimes, "me" is the right choice.
Unless one of us are on the staff, we won't be able to give anything but a guess. My guess is that one of the back-up linebackers is leaving. Since Ross and Bolden are playing on D already, maybe it's RJS or Ringer. Poole would be another guess. Pure speculation
Why would Ringer leave after a RS year when he injured his knee? But this speculating is fun! Maybe JMFR is going pro?
You know, Dude, I myself dabbled in pacifism once. Not in 'Nam of course.
Have no info and will not state anything as even being slightly mattering in Ringer's status or mind but I will say he often doesn't speak too highly of Ann Arbor in general. Nothing team related! Just things that could be homesickness or truly preferring a place more like his hometown. Other things such as just strangers in AA, the bus system and such being "a joke" (his words). AGAIN, by NO MEANS does this mean anything in my head or speculation. I've just had many show me tweets and tell me personal stories stating such. Add potential lack of playing time and you never know. My wonder and question is whether this has any indication on Lewan. Clearly a late 1st-early 2nd rounder at worst (even if his stock plummets) and maybe the staff knows he is leaving already? Or any other player for that matter. IMO, it is a toss offer to the best friend of our staunchest and possibly best recruit/er who happens to also be a very good player committed to our 2nd biggest rival. A no lose, really.
I don't see Poole receiving much playing time and I've wondered about Ringer as well. Two more years of JMFR and Morgan, plus three of Ross and Bolden and incoming talent.....someone is going to go.
isn't going anywhere. Watching him on special teams, he's very much into the game. Admittedly it's very little to go on, but he's quick twitch athlete who isn't afraid to hit. I think he's going to be very good eventually
The coaches told the currently committed linebackers that they would not pursue other linebackers, which is why they didn't go after EJ Levenberry, Shane Jones, etc. I think it's pretty clear this has to do with a guy who's looking around.
