They know they aren't getting Reschke (or at least understand it is a huge long shot). But Brother Rice puts out good talent (including Reschke) and by not even offering that can look back to future prospects from that school. Sometimes you get your name in there more for future prospects than the one actually offered.
Again, not bashing Reschke or saying Michigan doesn't want him at all, but from my understanding he and his family have a long standing relationship and love for MSU, so this seems more like an offer for the future than anything else.

Demetrius Cooper is probably the one most likely to decommit if something major happens, he never sounded too sure when he made his commitment, and the now #1 Team in the country was going after him hard.

Or unexpected attrition. What if Jones and Gordon are expressing not coming back for their 5th years or a guy like Poole is thinking of leaving or his injury is not healing. The situation could have changed quite a bit since the spring.
