Isn't he a 2014 prospect?
Thank you, yes. Edited.
Shut down LT on the camping scene. Has solid size compared to most of his Cass Tech counterparts and should be in the four star range.
Cool. It's rare that Michigan recruits in the state of Connecticut. He must be REALLY good.
All jokes aside Magnus, what other Cass Tech 2014 prospects do you think get offers and which ones do you like the most?
I like Webb and Deon Drake the most. I think Drake will get an offer. He could play running back or linebacker. I think William White will probably get an offer at some point, but I'm not extremely high on him or on Gary Hosey. But they're only rising juniors, so we'll see...
Didn't know you started your Countdown, outstanding. Games must be closer than I think
I guess I need to advertise better.
Don't oversell it.
But don't undersell it either
I wish I had taken marketing classes in school. That might make this a whole lot easier.
Just remember, too much is never enough unless it's just about right.
I refuse to trust people who nickname themselves after Ohio State quarterbacks (and linebackers).
is a good career move!
Magnus here it is. My, philosophy is, basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don't, ever, for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who or who you are with, or or where you are going, or, or where you've been. Ever. For any reason. Whatsoever.
You would make a great boss.
My take on the "over selling". It wasn't you overselling the interview at TTB, it was you overselling the spectacularness of the interview. That's how I read the critique
At least credit Gene Smith when you quote him, sheesh.
Do you think he has more upside at CB?
I don't know. I haven't seen him play corner.
I'm guessing we will see him take some snaps at corner with TR graduating.
got onto the radar as a WR, but after shutting down Laquon Treadwell a few weeks back, he's been making waves at CB.
Mobile, six foot CB's (from Cass Tech!) being more of a rarity than six foot wideouts certainly helps that argument.
how likely is he to commit and, if so, when?
I would say pretty likely. I think Tremendous had posted his dad was a big Michigan fan as well.
Seeing he is a rising junior, I wouldn't be surprised if he takes his time to at least look around first. But if he commits before Indiana gets their 2nd 2013 commit, I think I will feel really bad for Indiana football fans.
Are there any Indiana football fans left?
Great news - Go Blue young man! Super prospect and a life long Michigan fan.
The kid is going to be a national recruit, so I'm glad the staff didn't wait any longer to offer.
I'm all for snatching players from last year's State Championship team!
How many players do y'all think we will get from Cass Tech from the c/o 2014??
david dawson tweeted that Damon Webb would commit if he got an offer.
/buckled up
/team 135
said last week that we should be on COMMIT WATCH. Could Webb be are first commit?
I'm cool with that.
Does Michigan have a good pipeline for the 2014 season? I am new to this state but have decided to become a Michigan fan over MSU. What is the deal with this OSU rivalry?
you joined the good guys - good choice
How old are you? Everyone who's ever watched college football knows Michigan & Ohio is the greatest rivalry in sports!
this is my favorite post of the entire year.
It's even better if you imagine it's Kalis trolling us.
You had a 50-50 chance of it going all wrong. You don't know how lucky you are that it didn't. What made you choose the good guys?
and I want to be your friend.
I spent a few seconds trying to figure out what position 'CT' was, then realized it must mean Connecticut. Only to find out I was wrong!
We need to get Kyle and Herm together.
At CB vs. Laquon Treadwell..
And as a freshman at U of D Jesuit
He reminds me of Percy Harvin minus the top-end speed.
He's physical, stocky, and "thick" like Harvin (who I saw in HS in VA Beach).
At WR he has a knack for getting open and just seems to find the holes from what I can tell (and from what I've heard). Like a smaller version of Jason Avant in terms of playing style, now does he have hands like Avant? Most people don't.
On defense is looks even more like Harvin who was a very solid CB in high school. He's physical at the line, he holds too much, but he doesn't get beat. He's got the speed to stay with guys and he's a nightmare for big WRs because he gets right up in you and doesn't let you start your route with his strength.
Harvin would push kids over in HS, and the bigger guys had trouble because it would take them literally 4 seconds to get off the line. If they did, he obviously had the speed to keep up despite his size. Webb has a similar style.
To me, this is a GREAT offer, because of all the Cass Tech CBs, this may be the one (and Boo Boo) who can play on the strongside of the field. All the other little guys are better suited for the wide side or for the nickel position in the slot.
If Webb were older, he'd be the perfect complement to Countess. With that said, he should have some pretty good guys to run with by the time he (hopefully) gets to Michigan.
I'm just glad that we may be finally get a taller corner.
Jourdan Lewis and Damon Webb are listed as being the same height, and Gareon Conley is over 6' tall. I'm not sure your statement makes much sense...
I forgot about Gareon Conley. I guess that I was thinking about all of the CT corners that we've been recruiting in the last 5 years (obviously with the exception of Jourdan Lewis). I guess I should've said that I'm glad that we are finally recruiting more tall corners.
