Michigan - New Hampshire: Open Thread
Have you heard a timeline for Racine?
All I've heard so far is that they will evaluate him back in Ann Arbor. Hopefully it's nothing. I would hate to see such another Michigan goalie have to deal with a groin injury again.
Indiana's going to overlap into this game which is a bummer. I'll have to monitor here till the IU game mercifully ends
edit: wrong thread
Feeling pretty decent about tonight with Nagelvoort in net. Seems like our mantra the past few years has been struggle Friday, win Saturday and the voort looked good last night
I feel like Im watching last nights replay. Another odd man rush, on our PP no less
Looks a lot like last night. UNH just looks better
There are a lot of Michigan fans there tonight. A whole section it looks like
Is this game on Any Directv channel?
If you have Fox College Sports Atlantic then maybe?
Refs feeling they need to even it up I guess after we took 5 last night in the 1st
Nice little Michigan contingent here. Watched FB game at local bar with NH Alumni club then ran to the hockey arena
Be sure to inform the parents of their ugliness and their goalie that he is a sieve
Edit: Nevermind it was Moffatt. Still, each goal counts for one point whether Guptill or Moffatt scores it so thats good
Moffatt! 2-1 U-M!!
Moffatt with the no look, twisting backhand pass goes off a skate and in the net
Michigan's carrying play a good bit more right now than they did last night. They've clamped down on those odd man rushes a bit, thought I've still seen one or two come our way
Danger zone. I think it'll be about :30 of it
Damn, they score. 2-2.
Reminiscent of the goal that won us the 98 championship. Just threw it against Nagelvoort's leg as he protected the post and I think it went off Nagelvoort's skate and in. Crappy goal, but not much different than our 2nd so you can't complain much
UNH was buzzing toward the end of the period. I think I'll be happy to avoid a loss in this game too
UNH still buzzing. We'll get random scoring chances but not much sustained pressure
It's impossible to track the puck in SD. Im watching players a lot in the scrums to figure out where the puck is
Guptill is looking great tonight. Tons of scoring chances. He's everywhere
Michigan is moving the puck very well in zone, just haven't been able to convert scoring chances.
Wow I didn't even realize Racine was injured. I miss one game and this happens...
Wasn't under a rock. Just out late last night and don't use my phone or go on the computer all day until Michigan's football game is over.
but Nagelvoort has looked just as good. I haven't noticed much of a difference between the two
Michigan fans behind the net and the Michigan players are thought it was in. Probably going to be reviewed
Personally I don't think it did, but it was close
says it was in. We will see.
There are a lot of Michigan fans there. The entire section behind the UNH net is Michigan fans
Didnt think so but it was close
5:34 to go. Michigan buzzing a bit
Games been even in the 3rd. Both teams trading good chances, though I think Michigan may have had a few more
UNH buzzing in our zone
UNH with some good chances here but Michigan fighting back with a few of their own right now
What a shitty time for the audio feed to go out.
The audio is poor on my end for some reason tonight and now it's less than poor.
I can provide a bit of play by play for you guys in case it cuts out again. I have it on TV
5 minutes of gametime, no scores means a tie
4:30 UNH has a chance right in front. Save. Michigan comes right back down with a great chance of their own
Yay, it's back!
Really up and down right now. A lot of chances for both teams. 3:45 to go
GOOOAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WIN!!!! 3-2 OT WIN
Motte!!! OT WINNAR!!!
Great win. Good series.
Wow. What a huge weekend, stealing a tie last night and then squeezing out a win.
This should be the team's weakest spot, before the players come together... And they're getting huge, significant non-conference results. Awesome!
Gigantic road win. Going to #13 UNH's barn and getting a win and a tie is gigantic for such a young team.
For the B1G-HEA challenge that's worth 3 points: 2 for a win +1 for on the road
I'm SO glad hockey is off to a good start.
Tyler Motte scores, Michigan wins 3-2
You need to do PBP for every Michigan game.
First two weekends of the season after we lost our top two 1st rd nhl defencemen, huge questions in goal, a suspended top scorer, and a loss to a canadian college team, and we have 3 quality wins and a tie over 2 top 5 teams with a backup goalie in net for one of them. Sounds like for this season, I picked the wrong time to give up sniffing glue.
but still a lot of big wins thus far
So let's see-
- My final homecoming game as a senior, a 40-8 win and a field rush. No better way to go out as a student and former player. (Cool story bro)
- Michigan beats indiana with offensive fireworks (finally). Skipped my final homecoming to watch this game and boy they didn't make me regret it.
- Hockey starts the year 3-0-1 with two wins over ranked teams from HEA. 1-0-1 in the first B1G/HEA Challenge.
- Party in about 30 minutes where I shall play the pong of beer and consume large amounts of alcoholic beverage.
This weekend. I tell ya.
#6 BC over #2 Wisconsin, 9-2 - 2 pts for HE
UMass over MSU, 3-1 - 2 pts for HE
#13 UNH ties #5 Michigan, 1-1 - 1 pt for each
#15 BU over #2 Wisconsin, 7-3 - 2 pts for HE
UMass over MSU, 5-2 - 2 pts for HE
#5 Michigan over #13 UNH, 3-2 - 3 pts for B1G (bonus point for road win)
After one weekend:
Hockey East - 9
Big Ten - 4
Rough weekend for the Big Ten but it was entirely on the road so a bit understandable. Wisconsin looks to be way overrated and MSU seems to be bad. Michigan appears to be fairly legit; we scored the Big Ten's only points this weekend
Really sparty? UMass? Not Lowell right? Amherst?
And where are you getting the scoring system from?
