7:30 on CBSSN.
Commence and feel free to include Friday night libation choices.
I was just about to post this thread. Anyways, Mac Bennett is back. He will pair with Trouba.
Didn't mean to go offsides.
No big deal. Just glad I looked first before I posted a second thread.
Yeah multiple threads are annoying.
Hey have you guys heard about the Duke student section teasing a player about his deceased grandma? I'll go find a link and post a thread about it. It's pretty mean.
Let's Go Blue? Let's Go Blue!
To hell with Notre Dame? To hell with Notre Dame!
...many UM games since I moved to MN, but I'm surprised by the poor record this year. Do you think it's the frosh goalies? In the games I have seen, there seems to be less aggressive fore and backchecking.
Partly poor goaltending, partly poor effort as a team, and partly poor leadership. When the last-place team (at the time, Bowling Green) comes into your rink and punks you, things aren't good.
Like their early ranking. Need to get on a roll before the playoffs.
Rudy Gives Golden Dome
...in goal. Could be stiff competition.
DAMMIT, they score. 1-0. :P
And ND is in 3rd place in the CCHA.
Every time I see that kid line somebody up, I hear the music from Jaws.
Coincidental minors? What BS. Looked like the ND guy roughed and crosschecked. #Gongshow
Notre Dame has been an amazing rush team since Jackson took over, they really fly down the ice and do a great job getting to space in transition. Very tough to defend.
Any chance we'll see the flying V next?
His legs were too far apart on entry though.
FUCK! 2-0 them.
2-1 them now.
Edit: Merrill on the PP.
...an even-strength goal?
Nope. Hooking call at 17:05, PPG at 18:32.
Getting that goal at the end was pivotal. Michigan still isn't playing Michigan Hockey though. They need to spread it out more and and create chaos.
This dumb broad said that Michigan-nd goes back to 1921-22......too bad Michigan Hockey didn't begin until 1922-23.
Jokes on you, she is neither dumb nor a broad.
Oh phork, please take a hike back to IE.
Just can't slow down Boo Nieves. That's his 23rd point of the year.
Rinkside reporter Shireen Saski and analyst Dave Starman are husband and wife.
SHIT! They go up 3-2.
damn it Rohrkemper. He left Rutledge out to dry.
Great save by Copp.
Dammit, Trouba! Stay out of the damn box!
I compare how he played for usa at world juniors and how we plays for us and I keep thinking somewhere there's a kgb gulag with the real jacob trouba cooped up sean connery in the rock style, with the warden a russian grad from state. I just don't understand how he could be so dominant for usa and so irresponsible on the ice for michigan...
I thought he took some stupid penalties at the juniors, too.
A quick whistle in our favor??? I be like dang.
Copp ties it at 3!!!
Layin' down the law!
GODDAMMIT!! They score right back, 4-3.
Woo flipped it on and saw the 2-on-1 goal by Copp 10 seconds later. CBSSports channel is actually useful to me for the first time.
And F Lee just scored.
4-3 them after two.
Scores around the CCHA
WMU 2, Miami 0 - battle for first place
Ferris St 2, Northern 0
BG 2, MSU 1
Damn, don't want BG to gain points on us.
That's a final now :/
Don't rely on the cellar dwellers aka FYS to help us. They're one of the worst teams I've ever watched.
Well, thanks to FYS, we're not last.
FUCK!!! 5-3 them now.
Our goaltending is turrible.
Edit: So is the puck handling. I'm genuinely perplexed at the lack of fundamental execution. Can one of you clue me in; I've never seen a Michigan squad play worse hockey.
Welp, so much for that. I thought Michigan was playing pretty well for 2 periods but that careless lapse on defense screwed it. At this point, Michigan is battling for home ice in the first round. Yes, that means 8th place.
So, about winning the conference tournament...
I think one of our goalies would have to sell his soul.
Good news: Michigan has one hell of a class coming in next year.
Bad news: Only 2 defenders.
DeBlois, 6-4, them.
Edit: SH goal, our 2nd of the night (Copp had the other).
Plus ND took a penalty.
Scoring two SHG in one game and being down by 2 goals is something I've probably never seen in close to 30 years of watching hockey. Nice finish by DeBlois, though...PLEASE convert the following PP.
Let's Go Boys!
Edit: Would anyone else have pulled the Goalie down by 2 on that last PP?
As awful as this season has been, there certainly wouldn't have been anything to lose by trying it.
You can't get into a skating match against a Jeff Jackson Notre Dame team. Turnovers, failed clears, and an Irish squad that Michigan couldn't keep up with. This was over before it started.
Man, what is it with Rutledge? He is 3-1-0 against state but everyone else....
New starter tomorrow I presume. Don't know how one can justify starting the same guy after he lets in 6. 1 of them was a huge mistake on the defensive part so really 5.
