I liked his claim that anytime there's contact with a goalie, they're going to call a penelty (or something to that effect). Maybe Hyman deserved that call, but Hunny gets run A LOT. It seems like that might have come up during preparation for the game given how much Red has mentioned it in pressers this year.

All he had to do was check out the post game press conference from the week before to know that Red was not happy with the way Hunwick has been getting hit.
I just assumed that was part of preparing for the one game you are going to commentate all year.

Maybe going by that particular contact (as a former player, and current referee, so my experience isn't nothing, here), but otherwise there's no standard like that, even in USA Hockey. By the way, Hyman deserved it if, if, if, they're going to make the same calls when it goes against MSU. A lot of those calls have to do with a referee's "style" and you just have to look for it to be called consistantly.
Edit: do you mind me asking why your particular username? I've been wondering that since I've seen you post.

My username is because some friends of mine decided that if I was a DJ I would be DJ MastaDon. I do not know where it came from (I have no interests in DJs or prehistoric mammoth type creatures), but it seemed like an adequate username to use for websites.

Economics. Does an open shot like that provide a better scoring chance than two minutes of 5-4? The answer is almost always yes, so I fully support those penalties (as long as they actually deny a shot with the penalized action).
Staee is very good on special teams, though, so I feel your anxiety.
