To be fair, "kawter," there are three OSU posts on the mogoboard side display right now out of a total of fifteen.  All three are relevant.

I am not trying to be rude here, but I am curious.  Are you old enough to remember when Michigan vs OSU used to be one of the two or three best games in college football every year?

I don't like his tone. But I always read. Is he as critical of his Buckeyes playing terribly against inferior competition as he is Michigan playing superbly against? I don't read that site besides this.

Why we care, per Sun Tzu:

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

"Michigan under Jim Harbaugh, however, is never going to be defined by its weaknesses. Instead, it will be defined by how it overcomes those weaknesses, and — somehow, someway — even turns those weaknesses into strengths.

That is what Michigan Football is going to be under Jim Harbaugh, and things already look to be ahead of schedule.

The only thing missing now is depth and talent, which isn't going to be missing for much longer."

He's 100% right.  Party's over Buckeye's - daddy's home.

This is spot on.  I was going to post the same thing, it's a perfect synopsis of Michigan under Harbaugh so far . . . by a guy with no vested interest at all to say it.

Yes the Buckeye party is OVA.  Oh, it's not like they will just go away.  They have great recruiting and coaching.  But so do we now.  Michigan-Ohio State games will go back to being decided on a turnover or a missed call . . . not one team's utter domination over the other.

but i went ahead and clicked on it anyway.  not a bad article, not bad at all. and a few good quotes too.   if only all ohio fans were as dignified and possessed of a sense of humor as this guy, you could almost like them.   paging buckeye jon ross.....

He's a little too down on a defense that's allowed 31 points in 5 games (minus the Utah pick six). I like Michigan Monday, but you can almost sense genuine concern relative to OSU. Haven't been able to see that in a while.

Not a ringing endorsement of our program, but you might say the same things about them. Considering what is being posted over on their site, I think "glass houses" may apply.

Yeah, well, when I'm playing I try to throw the ball, and the men opposite me on the field, they try to take the ball away.  Now, then I try to throw it to a place on the field where the opponents aren't standing anymore.  And if they manage to get there, I run around and try to throw it to another place on the field where they're not standing anymore.  And sometimes I or one of my teammates goes outside the lines on the sides of the field.  And if that happens, the officials blow their whistles, and that's very bad if it happens to me.  But if it happens to the other team, I really like that.

He is starting to shade things a little bit.  His quotes and stats are still accurate, but they are a little selective to make Michigan look more disjointed than it actually is.

We were easy for a Buckeye to write about when we were just a cute little lion cub taking its first shaky steps.  But now that we've killed a few villagers, we're not so much fun to write about.

Expect future Michigan Mondays to accentuate the few negatives that can be found even more.

I normally like his posts, but this was poorly written, illogical and teeming with bitterness.

He spent the entire time criticizing both our offense AND defense for beating Maryland 28-0. He also described BYU as a horrid offense (not accurate. they may not be great, but they're not worse than average). OSU has looked much worse than we have in games against bad competition.

the safeties which is generally a good thing. I'm not sure about that criticism. The offense is playing about average. The main issue is the inability to hit the deep ball. They are protecting the QB well and until Maryland where getting a decent push in the run game.

I don't have any idea what issues at safety he is talking about.  The secondary generally hasn't given up any plays downfield, which means the safeties are doing their job.

Calling BYU a terrible offense is also not accurate, they are average at worst. The numbers UM held them to are impressive, regardless of how anybody wants to slice it.

What the hell is that guy smoking?

The same BYU squad that's averaging 30+ points per game (if you throw out Michigan) and against the toughest schedule in Div 1?  What a strange post.

I can't really remember the safeties giving anything up this year. The lbs have had a few moments of giving up passes but when you give up 100 yards in back to back games with one against a good offense, there's really not much to complain about. The ol and qb position didn't play well on Saturday though.

Despite OSU being 5-0, maybe he is getting nervous about how dominant UM's defense has looked.  The only valid point he made about the defense is that they haven't gotten to the meat of the schedule yet, but he negates that point in a way by saying that UM won't see much better offenses the rest of the year.

I think I'm a pretty smart guy, but I cannot wrap my head around what he's trying to say with that dessert analogy to Maryland's offense.  Maryland paid for defense?  And feels like they don't need offense.  All I'm saying if WOOF, nice try, guy.

And in the last paragraph he says we don't have talent or depth.  Talent, maybe, at certain positions.  But I think we're actually pretty deep at every positiion save QB and LB.  Lots of guys are contributing all over the field.

This is an interesting Michigan Monday. Last week, I thought that Gerdeman was a bit off. Today's column confirms it for me. I think his tone is shifting just a wee bit. I don't know when Gerdeman began Michigan Monday. But I think this may be one of the first seasons when Michigan appears to be a legitimate threat, and OSU is . . . struggling. As noted above, it is easy to be patronizing and condescending when Michigan is bad. But as Harbaugh moves the team forward, this becomes a harder column to write. I completely agree with MGrowOld as to the money quote, on how things have really changed under Harbaugh, and they're not going back.

I don't know when he started the column, but for over a decade he has had the priviledge of writing it with a condescending "little brother" tone, since we haven't beaten an OSU team with a winning record since 2003.  They have been able to look at us the way that we look at Minnesota and the tone of that column reflects that.  It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming years of HARBAUGH! comes to full fruition.  Smug can become bitter fast.  Of all the insults, nothing truly hurts more than the fact that they no longer seem to hate us.  They haven't had a loss that rips their heart out since at least 2003, and even in that one everyone knew that we were the better team going into it and they were really lucky to be 10-1 at that point.  They have totally forgotten what it feels like.

I don't want to take anything away from Michigan's win, because they did exactly what they were expected to do

Funny, I don't remember us going into that game as 28 point favorites.
