I love how much Michigan hockey has been on TV already. Almost for that reason only I am enjoying realignment

I usually didnt get to see this many games a year out of state, I've gotten to see every game on TV/web so far but the Lowell game

It's like these refs call it one sided because they feel bad for the other team. Once we went up 2-0 they couldn't keep their arms down, now MTU gets a great chance to win this game.

This might be the first time I start to wonder if the offense is there. Lots of shots but a lot of them come from the wings or go right into the goalies gut. Since RIT, we've only gotten 1, 2, 2, 1, and 2 goals in past 5 games (regulation only)

The opposing goalie gets praised every week it seems, but I think we're padding their stats

One upperclassmen defensemen has been a disaster this year. How much longer can we survive the bad icings, slow skates and no look back passes up the boards? It's time to give Szuma a chance.

BY THE COPP!!! Nagelvoort made an amazing glove save to keep this game knotted at 1. Loving the heart and talent of this team this year! GO BLUE!

i thought tech looked either stronger or in better shape then us. i would guess that has to do with the youth we have and so many players not having gone throught a college weight program.

This was a trap game. We used to get caught in plenty of games just like this against Northern Michigan. They don't have enough talent to skate with us, but they skate hard and ride the momentum.

If Michigan can't handle the energy one thing leads to another; they start skating with more confidence, we end up in the box, we're making bad decisions and they have us on the ropes.

BC is basically the dynasty in college hockey at this point and their arena is probably not half full for a game between ranked opponents. From TV it looks closer to 1/3 full. Im disappointed to see the Yost attendance dwindling, but at least we're still getting a solid 5,000 a game. Other programs are not so forunate as to have a devoted fanbase. Even Minnesota's rink was about half full for their first game vs BC last weekend

Great start to the weekend.

Field Hockey upsets the conference champion #6 penn state, 2-1 in OT and hockey beats tech 3-2 in OT.

It will be like a biathlon for me tomorrow. Football at 3:30 and hockey immediately after beginning at 7:05 on FS Detroit. Hopefully I'm in a REALLY good mood and still charged up.

Hopefully tomorrow is the best day of the athletic year so far for Michigan.

Just got back from the game.

My observations: It seemed like linemates were off all night. Passes were regularly glding wide of the wingman for one timers. I place this game square of a typical early season Michigan game where Red is messing with lines.

Tech was bringing the energy all night; Nagelvoort had some amazing saves in this game.

The puck was bouncing all over the place tonight. Yost had some really crappy ice tonight. A dump by Tech into an empty michigan zone late in the 3rd almost led to a goal due to funky bounce. luckily nag's was there with the stop.

Kevin Lohan right now has an undiagnosed lower leg injury. He was seen at Yost leaving on crutches.

Defense is not an area we have much wiggle room at and I thought Lohan had looked pretty good so far. If its anything serious, I guess that leave Chiasson or Szuma coming off the bench. We've only got 8 defensemen on the roster with a likely developmental Spencer Hyman being one of those

I was there, and these are the things I can report:

Lohan will be out a couple of weeks at least. He left for the locker room shortly after going off the ice. He was keeping all of his weight off of his right leg, AND seemed to be favoring his right shoulder a lot. He's not just hurt. He is injured. two teamates had to help him off the ice.

Hyman SHOULD be injured, but is evidently fine. He got nailed by a tech player a few inches bigger htan him right on the corner of the boards at the north end ofthe Michigan bench. If the padding weren't on that coner, he'd have spit his face open. Nasty.

Red made a TON of line changes. I was questioning it, becauseit seemed we had trouble getting anything going offensively with all the changes, but it paid off in OT big time.

Tech is way more talented and skilled than their record indicates. HOWEVA, they didn't do much creation. Their shots came on effort plays to get breakaways or catch a puck in front of the net. They rarely got into an offensive set.

Clare should get some freedom to come up more on O. He won several foot races for pucks or to get into a defensive position, and definitely has speed.

Racine is a little rusty if his pregame practice means anything, but his glove is lightning and he's still your starter when he shakes off the rust.
