Michigan - Michigan State: Open Thread

Submitted by Sac Fly on

Another must win game for the Wolverines, welcoming State to Yost. Michigan's senior class can improve to 5-0-0 at Yost against the Spartans with a win. The game is on Comcast 900.

Why is Channel 900 so terrible? It's a Comcast channel, you'd think they would have at least some production quality, but it's truly terrible. Not HD, bad camerawork, and awful graphics. At least the commentators are decent. But still, it is something.

I'm sure she's tired, but Goree has completely let herself be taken out of this game.

Overall, not enough horses, not making any plays down the stretch, and more terrrrrrrible passing.

First women's hoops I've watched but you have to imagine that when you only roll six deep, you probablydon 't finish games all that strong.

The offense stagnated and Goree - never - not once demanded the ball in the post. She didn't make herself available in the post.

That we ended the game with timeouts in hand, and Barnes-Arico never called a timeout to take our best player aside and tell her she needed to assert herself or the team was going to lose - I'm a little underwhelmed by that display of coaching.

Meh. Obviously not a tournament team.

Gritty effort, but I hope Barnes-Arico is bringing more than grit to the table.

Honestly, and this is a shallowly drawn opinion, but nothing about how we play seems particularly well-conceived.

I thought this thread was about the WBB game.

Just lost a heartbreaker by 3 in a game that we lead the entire way.

Pretty much exemplified why most people hate women's basketball. Just a completely different game.

Anyway...Go Blue MIH!!

Wow that was cool, following the Men's Hockey game and the Women's Basketball game simultaneously.  It kind of had an interesting flow to it, like some kind of ultra-sport.

I do think Barnes Arico spends too much time in the Penalty Box for us to make it to the Frozen Dance though.

That chant was weak and the "Can't Read Can't Write was weak" but "Little Brother" was good.  It is spring break.  I was surprised we didn't get the alumnit band and still a lot of students were there.

I don't thiey sold as many student hockey tickets this year.  More went for basketball tickets.

isn't the only one scoring bunches of goals---the Red Wing-Devil game has turned into quite a goal-scoring affair.  The two teams took turns scoring back-to-back-to-back goals in the 2nd period, which began with the Wings leading 1-0 and ended  5-3 Red Wings .
