My U of M source says Big Ten has plans to move Maryland game to noon Saturday (not 8pm) and will make final decision by tomorrow evening.

It is a Michigan Football game where ass kicking will be in display. I will watch whether it is at noon or 3:30 or 6:30 or 8. Heck, I would watch if it is at 3am on Sunday. I have no life when it comes to M Football. Go Blue!

In my day the game was played REGARDLESS of weather conditons...in todays PC correct everybody has feelings and god forbid people  get wet culture we have to move the the time or cnx the game... SUCK IT UP and play the game at the scheduled time..unless their is a lightining storm the game should go on

play football during a potential hurricane landfall?

I assume you dinged some tobacc into a spittoon while polishing an old double barreled shotgun while typing that.

/actually might be impressed if serious.

I'm a fan of the 3:30 games in mid-to-late October where it starts to get dark in the 4th quarter. Michigan has won a lot of fun games in that fashion. Braylonfest and Touchdown Manningham come to mind.

If there is a concern for the players/ fans safety. Change the time/venue.

On a personal note, I'm gonna be pissed because I changed my schedule so I could watch the night game.

I hope it stays what it is. I work at noon until about the start of the game. I took the shift knowing I'd be able to still watch the game. If it changes, I'm screwed.

with a flight as a factor, I deem noon a disaster and a showstopper. Tickets and travel plans hinge on 8pm kickoff - which were acquired once the kickoff time was announced. B1G kickoff changed for a tropical depression? Oh, how things change ...

I understand the frustration with the earlier game time but given the potential weather conditions being forecast, it makes sense to me.

We're not talking about the potential for rain, we're talking about the potential for rain/lightning bands to start hitting the area that night. While the chance is remote, I would hate for the game to get cut short because of lightning.

There is a good chance your flight is not going to happen. Storm is up to 115mph and could strengthen more. Even if landfall does not occur until late Sunday the airlines will start canceling flights on Saturday.

If the forecast continues to trend towards a major hurricane moving up the Chesapeake on Sunday afternoon the chance of a game anytime on Saturday will continue to fall

I really think it's going to stay at 8PM in College Park.

Most recent government hurricane trackers just released this map:

As you can see, even by Sunday night the effects in the DC area will be minimal at best. It's really going to be a late Sunday night into Monday problem for the area.

As long as your flight is scheduled home before 7/8PM on Sunday, you should be fine.

I really, REALLY, don't want a noon game because my flight to Baltimore doesn't land until 11AM on Saturday.

I understand, but it's only rapidly strengthening because it is over warm Bahama water AND not moving at all.

Once it turns to the north and picks up speed it will rapidly weaken; all meterologists are in agreement on this.

Even when the storm is 400 ish miles off the SC coast during game time, it will be a category 2 or less.

Just curious, how do you know all this? (non-facetious)

I mean, do you read a lot of weather related sites, or do you work in the field?  I'm always in amazement the sheer number of random ass posters on here, who know a lot about such diverse topic areas.

Leaders and Best I guess.
