Here's to wishing the Big Ten Network would have a live feed of Men's golf using a "bag cam". The video would have to be better than their video of the Spring "game".

I don't know squat about lacrosse, but for the 10 real-time minutes I watched, OSU scored 4 goals and U-M didn't even get the ball past midfield.  They had a play where the U-M goalie just chucked it up for grabs just past midfield, the OSU guy easily jumped in front of the U-M guy, stole it, and went right down and scored.  I assume that's bad.

I wonder if our coach, who was very successful of our club program is ultimately experienced enough to be successful at the D1 level? I thought it was fair our AD gave him a shot because of that club success, but obviously high level club and D1 are dramatically different. I realize this is his only second year too, so it may be too soon to judge. But I am curious what other lax experts on this blog think?

It is fair to ask the question about Paul, but remember that he still has only a couple of real recruiting classes of d1 caliber. Talent in lax makes a HUGE difference, both in terms of skill and athleticism. No way to cover that up. On the other hand losses to newer programs than michigan shouldn't be happening.

Aside from High Point, have they lost to a newer program? And remember that HPU has one more recruiting class and was on the road. You could say they shouldn't lose that (I wouldn't yet), but conversely you could say they shouldn't beat Detroit or Bellarmine at this point, which they did. Or they shouldn't play teams like Cornell, Fairfield and Air Force (who beat Fairfield today) as close as they did. This team isn't that talented yet, and as young as they are they are wildly inconsistent.

Disclaimer: I played with JP

It's a fair question, although I personally know him to be an outstanding coach, and you won't find a guy who loves Michigan more. The answer is, it's too early to know. They have two recruiting classes in with better ones on the way. Lots of young guys and former club guys on the field. There's no question the team is improving. They are much better than they were last year. It would take any coach some time to build, especially starting with a club roster, no facilities, etc.
