Michigan locked into 2:30 B1G Tournament game

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Plan your excuses now for getting off work next week.

With tonight's win, Michigan is officially locked into a 2:30 game. Whether the first B1G Tournament game is on Thursday or Friday is still up in the air.

We get the 4 seed double bye if and only if these two things both happen-

  • Michigan beats Maryland on Saturday
  • Penn State beats Nebraska on Sunday

The opening game for the team at MSG would be on Friday in the Quarterfinals at 2:30 if the double bye is secured.

Otherwise, 2:30pm on Thursday in the Second Round against the winner of the 12 seed vs Rutgers First Round game. Should we win that hypothetical game, back at it on Friday at 2:30pm against the 4 seed Nebraska.

I’m about 11 years into my sales career and I think Hampton Inn has the best damn breakfast of any hotel. I can’t pass up the waffle maker.

That said, I don’t do many overnights so I don’t get sick of it. Also, I recently switched from Hilton to Marriott so I’m doing a Courtyard tonight for the first time. I’ll keep you posted.

Two desperate teams fighting tooth and nail to keep their extremely slim hopes of a tournament berth alive. It sure is good to not find ourselves in that position this year!

Bob.

Unless one is manning a cash register, most office time is wasted on meetings, pointless conversations, and when work does start to happen, the building conducts a manditory fire drill.

WFH = productive and happy employees. Unless you are the type of boss that feels the need to exert dominance and controlling supervision of your employees. But that might mean you are an ineffective boss... hmmmm.... Glad to see you on a sports blog.

and there's always an outside chance of a loss.

I ran scenarios through the RPI forecast and winning a neutral site game against any of our potential first round opponents does not change our RPI (not up or down) so would rather not play it so we can be fresh and not have to risk losing.

It would be a no-win scenario to have to play that game.

With Okla St's loss tonight, the Big 12 has entered the danger zone of only having 2 teams in the NCAA tournament.

Just read that on ESPN.  Seemed ridiculous, and then I looked andt West Virginia doesn't have the resume I expected and should be a bubble team.  Then it's K-State.  However, Oklahoma State WON tonight over Texas Tech...which is already one of the 2 teams guaranteed from the Big12 so, it's kind of a weird tweet.

Yeah, for all the shit the Big Ten gets for being down this year, the Big 12 has gotten off relatively scott free despite being maybe the worst conference this year. With the sudden drop off of Oklahoma, OK State, as well as WVU and Texas being mediocre, and even Kansas isnt as good as usual. so yeah, the B12 is BAD.
