“He was on the other side of the court, screaming: ‘Good shot, Kev!’” Durant said, shaking his head in delight. “I’m thinking, this guy’s an All-American type of teammate right there.”
Michigan leads for Jabrill Peppers
'Jabrill Peppers - Heavy UM Lean' or something to that effect.
EDIT: But this is great news if true! I have a feeling this is shaping up to be yet another extremely solid class.
Heard from a source that Bubonic Plague is not a serious threat in my neighborhood.
Yay, my headline is as informative as yours. Great news nonetheless.
I think you should definitely change the title as well because I hate that I had to click this thread to read it. /s
I hate that so much that people complain about thread titles. Really? Your gonna read it anyways stop complaining. At least he is giving you the needed info in the actual thread.
Informative thread titles are a courtesy and the way things are supposed to be done around here. From Brian's Board FAQs (which you should read if you haven't already):
What should I title my threads? Please make your thread titles as informative as possible: "Justin Feagin" is bad. "Justin Feagin leaving the team?" is good.
Cool. Thanks Dad.
Respect the avatar ;-)
Lets all get along!
I think you should be calling him Daddy.
The point is that whenever somebody posts a bad title, people spend the entire comments section bitching about it rather than discussing the content. It's one bad title on the board, it takes one comment to let OP know they should probably change it.
Either way, it's literally 30 seconds out of your day to click the thread and see what the deal is. I know everyone who reads this blog is super important though so I understand if people can't be bothered to read a one-sentence thread (never mind that they find the time to write a snarky reply, making the comments unreadable). I could see people complaining if the entire board was full of bad titles, but people blow this way out of proportion.
I don't see how it's being "courteous" (that is what this is about, right?) to derail some poor guy's (or gal's) thread just because they made an honest mistake.
Ok, don't use informative thread titles then...but then don't complain when people blast you for not following the guidelines.
Anything could have happened with Jabrill Peppers. He could have committed elsewhere. He could have named leaders. This could be a link to an article I've already read. He could have torn his ACL.
You say that it's 30 seconds to click on it, but it's 30 seconds for EVERYONE who clicks on it.
Or it would take 2 seconds for one person (the OP) to add a word or two to the title.
Considering the fact that it's an expectation of the board - and posted as such - your argument doesn't really hold water. The OP did it wrong. It's not for the OP to decide, nor for you; it's up to Brian and the mods, and they think differently. Things like this should be avoided in the future. That's really all that needs to be said.
You're missing the point. The thread title is bad and should be changed. We just don't need 35 people making that point every time a thread title sucks. It makes otherwise interesting threads unreadable (which I'm now contributing to in this one). Ideal process when Guy A creates thread with bad title:
- Guy B suggests in a comment that Guy A changes title.
- Guy A changes title.
Well, this is just one big downward spiral then...
I know the title is bad and should be changed. My point is that it's a minor inconvenience that people make way too big of a deal about. Point the offending OP to the FAQ, politely let them know their title is uninformative, and move on to discussing the content of the post. Being an asshole to somebody just discourages users from posting and makes the community seem petty and dickish. Just my opinion though.
Unfortunately, being a petty, dickish asshole seems to be the sole mission in life for numerous posters on this board. I can think of several off the top of my head.
This board has become largely unreadable with the little sister bitchiness about posts.
Although this board can be over-policed at times, I invite you to check out one of the other boards that is under-policed, and tell me which you prefer.
Jabrill Peppers are a nice replacement for Jalapeños when making salsa.
Oh, wait, what? I couldn't tell from the thread title you were talking about the football player.
This is outstanding news if true! Also change the title please. Maybe if we get Peppers that will increase our chances of getting Hand too.
Nothing would get me going like landing some Hand right now.
All we need is a handwritten note saying "You're a baller" to get Peppers to commit.
Does it count as handwritten if its written via a magic quill?
/dont judge me, HP books are a good read.
Whatever, man. If you're reading Hewlett Packard manuals, you're clearly a huge nerd. Consider yourself judged.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who read HP and thought Hewlett Packard...
This is great news but Im not getting too excited. Treadwell did the same thing early in the process and ended up at Ole Miss.
Well, let's keep a closer eye on Peppers' bank statements than we did on Treadwell's.
Dont forget Twitter
He appears to be driven by different goals than Treadwell.
That was before Treadwell looked at other schools. Peppers is now a heavy lean immediately after visiting LSU and OSU.
Mother of God
Is the "J" really necessary? How many guys are we recruiting with last names that start with "P"?
For a kid who wants to win the Heisman as a freshman DB, it only makes sense.
I may be wrong, but I think you have to earn the number 2 jersey.
He's an arrogant ass hat, but, a usually correct arrogant ass hat. This is his region of the country, so he has a lot of contact people with a lot of the top programs. I understand why people hate the guy, but his track record with this stuff is pretty damn good.
Is Peppers planning on making a decision before this senior season starts? Or is there no timetable yet? Either way, awesome to hear we are really in it for all of these top prospects
He said in his Bleacher Report video (HOORAY SLIDESHOWS) that he wants to wait till after the season. There are a lot of D1 prospects on his team (including OT Juwann Bushell-Beatty who we lead for now) and he wants everyone to announce their decision at the same time.
