agreed.  obviously theyre still teenagers and its all just noise until signing day but its better to be named leader or mentioned as real contenders than not mentioned or politely dismissed or whatever.  its huge to make inroads into texas and see visits from out of state prospects in tex, fla, ga, ca, etc - tough to sign them without first getting them interested and on campus (cliche but true).

early unofficials and early contact playa significant role in eventually landing recruits but its also great to see this staff using all of their allotted officials / budget to bring in all potential options, particularly high ranked prospects who might be considered longshots - the ncaa allows certain # of visits and its accounted for in the budget so why not?

If you're so cynical, why even read this thread let alone respond? Or even read this blog...

This post is at least fact based. We may not land the kid but as of right now, the intel is coming from the recruit, not speculation.

Or perhaps he just doesn't find the "joke" all that funny. Just about all of the running jokes on this board arent. First and foremost any joke that ends with "/s".

Gary and Elliot would be a nightmare for opposing teams! Both could make an immeidate impact.. and this would be especially huge because a dominant dline will cover our weakness in the linebacker core next year. We will have average linebackers, but similar to how a great oline can make a so-so running back look great, a nasty dline can make our linebackers look good.

but I can't see how he could make an immediate impact. We're adding Mone into the DT rotation from this year. If Gary comes aboard, playing time gets squeezed further. Unless they can play WDE or Buck, any DL coming in that's not Gary should be a lock to redshirt.

Why no crystal balls for Michigan then?  He outright names Michigan his leader and no one flips their pick for him?  Michigan gets no respect, this is an outrage and unacceptable.  What does the team need to do to get the respect they deserve?

The lamestream media loves to hate Michigan because we are the winningest program in college football history with top academics and the world's greatest college town. I am absolutely disgusted by ES(EC)PN and their blatant pandering and unending support for that garbage conference that occupies America's most backward states. The media will continue to push recruits to attend these despicable cheating schools and sacrifice their academic future. Michigan is going to have to continue to do its best to work against these seemingly insurmountable odds.
