Michigan Lax wins huge

Michigan came out tonight and destroyed Purdue, as they were expected to do. The Michigan LAX Twitter page says the score is 28-3, with a few minutes to go.

Little Brother next weekend and then the CCLA tourney. I am sure Tim will post something about the game or about the program's future this week. Pretty boring to watch so nothing really to say, just an update.

I think the final rested at 28-2, but it was, regardless, a beatdown. A good note for the senoirs to go out on, as the final home game.
Purdon't got completely outplayed. Michigan scored thrice in the first 1:30 and by four minutes in, the Wolverines were just burning clock.
The second goal came off of an extremely weak 'break' from the full ride (3/4 field, wildly tossed shot that barely rolled in).
The team seemed to be motvated and willing to fight for GBs, etc. Some sloppy passing in the 2nd (which improved in the 2nd half) was a little frustrating, but when M is up by double digits, it's hard to get too upset.

we purdidn't....I almost went out for the purdue team during my sophomore year...those guys were douches. I am glad I didn't go out for the team and stuck with the running club.

My son got bored when the score hit 22-1, and he said "Daddy, there's no way Purdue can win this game."

Really hard to take much away from this game. Michigan played hard the whole way, but lost a lot of discipline at about the 8 minute mark of the 3rd quarter (score was something like 17-1 at that point). It would have been even more out of hand without a pretty good effort by Purdue's goalie. Lots of ball movement by the M offense, and a lot of off-ball movement as well. Purdue's defense was smaller and slower than the M attack, and was even worse at picking the ball up than CMU.

LOTS of kids at this game - multiple youth programs were in attendance, and there was a line to get into the game. We were on line for 15 minutes, and the sideline was packed.

Oh, and it wouldn't be fitting for me to post without reference to my pet peeve: Purdue's only goal up until the end of the the 4th quarter was on....you guessed it....an open net goal! A Purdue middle just flung the ball from mid-field and rolled it right in.

Anyway, great effort by the Wolverines - it is a testament to their focus and discipline that they are able to play with intensity against such an inferior opponent.
