Michigan - Iowa Game Thread

Submitted by mGrowOld on

I've never done one of these before but it's about 20 minutes to kick-off and none of the usual suspects have stepped forward so I guess it's time.  I'm feeling good about this game and think Michigan wins 24-14.  Meanwhile, over on ESPN Sparty takes on the Cats at noon so we've got plenty of Michigan (the state of)  football to watch early.

A timeout was used to call a play that didn't suck. Was Borges fired after the first quarter and we weren't told?

Did I not call that or what?

That one is on Hoke.

He should've drained the clock down to 1 second on the playclock THEN called TO. They'd have like 8 seconds now.

The clock was running, they could've let it run down from 47 to around 25-30 seconds THEN take the timeout.

3rd down either complete pass for TD / incomplete = FG with around 20 seconds left. This gives you comfort in squibbing at yielding field position around Iowa 35-40 since so few seconds left.

if sacked, you have 15+ seconds to run out FG team, more than enough comparing to last week's end of game scramble to tie NW

Instead with 40 seconds left you avoid giving a short field by Kicking it off long. luckily iowa is equally bad, but they could've gotten 7 simply because of our decision making.

And see now they scored on the 1st posession of 2nd half.

We call timeout while the clock was running with 47 seconds left on 3rd down... Could've let the clock run down. There was a terrible missed call on that return.
