Nearly halftime; interesting to see the team develop, despite the loss. Also, Monday is Michigan day on BTN.
EDIT: I have officially declared Monday a holiday.
I was going to post this, but not enough mgo points. Amazing just how easily this game could have had a different outcome...
It's painful to watch the end of that game. They had it on earlier today as well. Brought back all the frustration from that game
...at the end of the 1st half. Sigh.
not to mention the refs picking up the flag on the bomb to roundtree
It's hard to watch. We were clearly better than them, but made far too many mistakes. I know how it ends, but part of me watches it thinking that maybe things go differently this time.
When I sigh, is that why it's called the Sigh-Hawk Trophy?
I think this was Iowa weekend for BTN. All of the football games they showed were wins over us. Last year's game, the 2003 game (Lost 30-27) and the 1990 game (Lost 24-23).
Why is everything centered on Michigan? I can think of handful of wins over OSU they could have shown or how about that game against Sparty 2 years ago where they won on the final play of the game? That seems more worthyof a classic than our game with them last year where the refs forgot how to call the game.
we are more relevant than lil bro or tsio.
EDIT: THIS IS MICHIGAN FERGODSAKES.
It's because no other conference program is simultaneously hated and envied by so many of the other B10 programs. Sure, everybody also hates OSU, but few people envy truck drivers, tattooists, and cooler poopers.
I often check BTN for Michigan football and basketball but when I saw it was Michigan at Iowa I took a pass.
IMHO, It is worth watching.
If you want your blood to boil.
I have enough so-close moments in my life as it is.
Whenever I get I start to shake my head over the Iowa game, I think back on how easily the VaTech and ND games could have went the other way.
I will gladly accept the Iowa loss and the Sugar Bowl win, rather than vice versa
It was an extremely rare time that I left a game early. I was so pissed, and was on vacation. Thanks for the great memory BTN....pause... pause...pause... NOT!
Hemingway made that catch !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at the game, and I have yet to see the whole game on TV. The Hemingway "catch" happened right in front of me, and I had a meltdown when they waved it off, much to the embarassment of my companions, who were pulling for Iowa, by the way. I need to see if I can be seen in the footage of the game LOL. I couldn't tell if the catch was legit or not live, of course.
The PI on Roundtree on the last play of the game was clear even to me (same endzone as the Hemingway play).
Kinnick is a fun place to watch a game, and I recommend it to everyone.
this game hurts my heart when I watch it
I know it was rough losing this game but looking back I see it now as wakeup call. I was worried it was the start of a losing streak like in 2009 and 2010 but instead it marked the start of the complete opposite.
I think I remember Heiko writing in his preview that this was the lose that really woke the team up and got them pissed off. We probably should have won, but I'll take the end result of the season
