Michigan-Iowa 09 on classic now

Watching some of our drives in the first half, I'm still surprised how some people (mostly shit for brains analysts) think we can't compete with the best teams. FWIW games on

cannot watch replays of those games we lost. Just too painful to see that we were so damn close to winning games like that one and the MSU game....

Just bring on UCONN.   Lets get this party started!

Everytime I see a breakdown in coverage or a big play, MIke Williams is there with his hands on his head. With the hit to our Secondary, I wish for one of two things, either Mike got 200% better or he doesn't see the field in big games IMO.

was played the night of my wedding... we were able to watch it in a seperate room... when the game was over i was talking to my dad about it when one of the brides maids walks by us and looks at my dad and i and says "did you see the end of the f'ing game, they f'ing blew it, god f'ing dammit..." and then continues on her way... i look at my dad and say "yeah, she takes it pretty serious"...

Not to mention that Tate had possibly his worst game of the season.  If he'd played his usual game, we win and the season probably would have turned out differently.

OSU was a mixed bag.  Lots of turnovers, but also 23 completions on 38 attempts for 226 yards and a TD on a day when we had no running game to take pressure off him.

Against Iowa, we had an excellent running game, but Tate was just off all day.

I have to admit, for some reason my thought was that Denard may start this year, but eventually after a few games he'll stumble, and Tate's "moxie" and "experience" would take over and he'd finish the year as the starter. But watching Dilithium's TD drive in the 4th, I might be firmly attached to DR's kool-aid tap. I mean, if his throwing arm is the real deal this year, he could be the destroyer of worlds. You forget how damned fast he is after not seeing him in game action for a few months. Iowa knows over and over that he's gonna run, but still, before he even shows up on anyone's radar, he's got 5 yards. If his arm is dangerous enough to sell the pass, he's almost guaranteed 6-8 yards or a first down on every snap. And not only am I excited to see his arm improve, but as he matures, his running game has alot of room for improvement and he'll be so much more dangerous when he learns better to flow with blocks, read LB's and get into space. Damn, this offense should be fun to watch.

Edit: yes I did just see his depressingly directly thrown INT. These we must avoid, my son.

literally anything else on that play we probably win that game. he could've passed it to stonum, minor, or, the hand-wavingly wide open tay odoms. he also could've done what he had always done, run. any of those things, especially the pass to odoms,  gets us well within FG range. but oh well, lesson learned for him.

I'm sure he beat himself up pretty bad for that one.  I'm sure he also used that as motivation to work so hard in the off season, too.  I have a feeling we're going to see the benefits of that (motivation and drive to be the best) come Sept. 4th.

Eh, the Iowa game was pretty misleading in that it's the only game where Denard really walked in as the savior.  What about ND, or Indiana, or MSU for that matter?  I'm sure that if Denard becomes the full time starter, we'll look at that game as a hint of the future, but it would require a big leap forward for Denard to really take off.  I'd use 2007 Juice as an analogy, and I still don't think it's wise to rule Tate out - even if Denard is the starter.  Sheridan started in the opener back in 2008...

As for the OSU game, I was less upset about the interceptions than I was that Tate did not get out there for the final drive.  It was his team and his chance, and he should have gone for it.

that we should of won. We looked good in the 1st half but couldn't finish it out. I would of loved to of had this game back because this would of been a 6th win and a possible bowl game.

eyes out for me.  Third quarter, coming back from a commercial break, I'm the guy screaming like a drunk lunatic in front of a guy in a santa costume (my buddy).  About five minutes after that I fell out my seat and pancaked a 5 year old kid sitting in front of me.  Good times.
