Michigan Hype Video
I made a hype video to kill time before the season starts. It's the first video I've made so let me know what you think.

Really enjoyed it, loved the weaving of the Desmond interview. Looking forward to when the 2008+ teams make up more than 15% of the video.

A hype video without Nickelback is like an omelette without eggs.
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:31 PM ^
Yeah, but at least he's kept with the network TV theme of fusing college football and AC/DC.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:45 PM ^
of the AC/DC bashing from one of the last year's BBall CILs.
I don't get it, myself. I thought the music was perfect (though FTATR is admittedtly less overplayed than, say, Thunderstruck).
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:08 PM ^
I hope you're joking. Nickleback is the worst rawk band in the history of the universe. See below for just one of the many reasons why:
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:34 PM ^
i hate this band. It needs to get on the same boat as Lou Holtz and ship out into stormy waters...
August 23rd, 2009 at 5:39 PM ^
Everyone knows that Nickelback is the official band of MGoBlog.
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:32 PM ^
Thats just what I needed to start my day! Can't wait until game time!
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:35 PM ^
That. Was. Awesome! I loved the Desmond part
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:35 PM ^
Despite the lack of any Christopher Walken, it was somehow still pretty sweet.
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:37 PM ^
.. to Minor RAGE.
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:39 PM ^
Nicely done!
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:40 PM ^
i liked it
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:41 PM ^
Very good. It is definitely one of the better ones I've seen
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:48 PM ^
Keith Jackson at the end sealed the deal.
Awesome.
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:44 PM ^
Are you the creepy white kid staring at the dude in the red?
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:57 PM ^
Well that's DeShawn Sims in the red. And I can't really tell, but it looks like Stu Douglass behind him. So sources would seem to point towards, no.
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:53 PM ^
Thanks for posting it. Always good to relive the happy M days.
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:53 PM ^
This was a well produced Michigan video. I enjoyed it immensely. Keep up the good work and I hope there are enough highlights in this season to produce something comparable at the end of the year.
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:54 PM ^
Great video -- loved the editing
August 23rd, 2009 at 1:59 PM ^
Start the season, start the season, start the season!!!
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:01 PM ^
This is definitely one of the better videos I've seen. I will be playing this on my TV on game days.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:13 PM ^
Got me excited for the season . . . and missing Charles Woodson BBHN.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:13 PM ^
I was merely enjoying the whole thing, but the Keith Jackson sound bite at the end sent me over the top. Nice job.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:14 PM ^
Got to say, I really liked it. I was moderately hyped for the season before, but now I really am. So, mission accomplished.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:17 PM ^
Damn fine job.
Damn fine job.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:22 PM ^
I've never been so pissed when my screen saver popped up in my life. The Desmond clip was gold. + a billion.
Also, sublime editing.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:23 PM ^
One of the better videos I've seen! Cant wait till we can start making vids with the new kids.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:31 PM ^
thanks
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:34 PM ^
I liked it, pretty awesome. I got chills during some of the opening shots. Desmond's quotes were sweet.
Only critique is I would've loved to see the destruction of Penn State QBs from a couple years ago. Otherwise, badass.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:40 PM ^
that was badass!
Nicely done.
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:51 PM ^
but the boyfriend started bitching about the overuse of AC/DC for hype videos so I muted the video and played The Ecstasy of Gold in the background... and it was pretty epic, I really hope the band ends up doing something with that. If anyone cares, I used this one and started it roughly 10 seconds before the hype video.
August 23rd, 2009 at 5:29 PM ^
I just tried it how you described, and I don't think there is any comparison to the original. The way it was edited flowed perfectly w/ FTATR, plus you miss the couple of voice-over clips that way. Desmonds was great, as was Keith Jackson at the very end.
August 23rd, 2009 at 5:40 PM ^
It's a totally different tone than the original, and definitely wasn't made especially for the video, but just wanted to throw that out there for the RAWK MUSIK detractors.
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:00 PM ^
I have been reading this blog for the last two years. This is the first time I have logged in to post. That's how much I liked this video. Very well done.
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:08 PM ^
This is by far the best 2009 hype video that I have seen so far. Great job, hopefully for next year we can use a lot of highlights from this season.
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:09 PM ^
Video was great.
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:12 PM ^
Can't recall a better one than that.
August 23rd, 2009 at 3:13 PM ^
great job
August 23rd, 2009 at 4:44 PM ^
Well done. Can't wait for the season to start. Gonna be fun.
August 23rd, 2009 at 4:53 PM ^
Great video. Would have chosen "Be Somebody" by Kings of Leon though. Opened Lolla with this and rocked it. Also sort of fits the mold...
August 23rd, 2009 at 5:00 PM ^
Nice work. Hope this year gives us a few more highlights to fill up a hype video of its own!
August 23rd, 2009 at 5:32 PM ^
Excellent video, thanks so much!
August 23rd, 2009 at 6:05 PM ^
Great job, especially for a first try!

Great video- what did you use for the editing?
August 23rd, 2009 at 7:26 PM ^
PowerDirector 7
August 23rd, 2009 at 6:22 PM ^
That was exceptional. I offer you my manliest high five.
August 23rd, 2009 at 6:41 PM ^
fantastic job.
I would have liked to see more current players, but of course you had most of the highlights from last year anyways. Here's to more plays from '09 that make the cut, eh? Keep up the good work and post the videos here when you have new ones please.
