Michigan Hockey vs. Wisconsin - Open Thread
Michigan gets swept in Madison by scores of 5-2 and 3-1. Keep your hand hovered over the panic button as the team is 0-4-1 over their last five and the offense has looked completely lifeless since the WMU game
This leaves Michigan at 10-6-1 and 2-2 in the B1G. Not looking good right now.

I always hate to say things like "This is a must win game" but this is a tipping point game it feels like. We're floundering and could really use a win. I feel like we're going to roll right into a slide if we come out of this weekend with no points. Fortunately MSU is up next but even though they suck they still beat us 3-0 last time.
The tournament is looking less and less like a lock every weekend

What a sh*t weekend we just had. The offense and (not coincidentally) the passing were just awful this weekend. Wisconsin was the better team for the vast majority of both games.
Like I had said before, I was hoping the MSU game was the proverbial 'wake up call' but thats not how it ever works with Michigan Hockey, They're just sad harbingers of the frustration that is to come. Hopefully we bounce back against MSU but I doubt it. The offense is completely lifeless right now.

This team is at a crossroads.
They're either going to kick the shit out of state like Michigan should, or they're going to fold and the season will fall apart like last year.
Difference is, if Michigan doesn't make the NCAA Tournament, Red will step down. He's said it over and over. He will get out of the way if the program is not performing up to expectations.
I don't want that to happen. I want Red to go out with an NCAA Championship.

exactly. I didn't get the fairy tale ending with Shawn Hunwick. I am hoping that Reds goes out with a different and better ending. All we need is to get in the tournament. Air Force and Holy Cross has taught us that the one and done nature of the tournament allows any team with puck luck and hot goaltending to make a run.
